Why is my fuel mileage and power suffering with only 265/70-17's ???

Did you get the LT265s (load E rated) or the SL/P rated 265s?

Far right column is the weight. Load E tire is 12lbs heavier than the P rated and probably 15-20lbs heavier than your previous street tires.
Rolling resistance also probably took a dive, as previously noted.

I have the lighter tire the 115S not the LT
I just noticed these tires are made in the USA... wow

And I also noticed the max inflation is 44psi, I have them at 40 right now I might try bumping them up to 44/45 and see if that helps at all....

Just looked up the weight of the tires that were on there before.
265/65R17 112T SL 460 A B 2,469 lbs. 44 psi 13/32" 37 lbs.

So only 3.8lbs difference per tire???

40psi sure seems high. You don't get a harsh ride or abnormal tread wear? I've never run over 35.

I thought it was high, too, but that's what Discount Tire inflated them to, and I thought I'd see how it felt. Turns out it rides just fine. I need to check the tire wear pattern with a chalk test to see what is really the best.

Tread wear seems fine I've always ran my tires a little higher than recommended for the vehicle but never higher than the tires max cold inflation psi.
