Why only lift the front?

I bought this ‘24 TRD Pro and the previous owner installed a lift on the front only. Why would someone do this? Is there some advantage I’m not aware of?

I’m now determining if I should lift the rear to level it out, or go back to the factory lift. But factory lift is seemingly difficult as the front lift that was installed required replacing the OEM Fox collars/ spring perch and I’m not having luck tracking any down.

I have a limited and can tell you why I did a front lift. As an offroad oriented vehicle, I was disappointed in front suspension travel before hitting the bump stops. I purchased a 1" lift that actually lifted my vehicle 2". If I had gotten a 1" lift, it would have removed some of that front "rake" and brought the front closer to leveling the vehicle. Since my lift was actually taller than I liked, I simply spent a few more dollars to add a 1" rear lift. Love the stance now.

Yeah, I understand wanting to lift the front to level things out. I should have clarified my question, why lift the front to the point it’s higher than the rear?

As you did, I’m leaning towards lifting the rear an inch or so to level it out.

I did this in the beginning before I could get to the rear, trd offroad premium 2018 so little different then your newer pro but the front shocks and springs in the 2018's were weak as hell and bottomed out over everything, thats why I did it, only lifted like 1.5" though, but was still enough to be higher in the front then the back

I don’t believe there is any mechanical advantage to having your front suspension higher than your rear, it’s a preference thing. Some people just hate the rake.

Maybe one thing that could be positively impacted is the immediate nosedive when braking. That can be reduced by squatting your truck. But then you need to live with every other downside of being squatted.

Isn't this a PreRunner kind of look? When I drove through the SW, I saw many purposeful-looking front lift biased trucks and 4Runners that looked like they were geared up to hit the dunes.

I added a front leveling kit to eliminate the front end rake. Much better stance now.

there are only 3 reasons why someone would do this:

1. they want a squatted truck for looks
2. they race it in dunes and they need the front for performance purposes
3. they ran out of money before doing the rear lift
