Hello all I am new to the forum and the 4runner world. I recently found some tail lights I would like to purchase but they are for an 06 and I own an 08. I know there were some tail light changes (not 100% what year the change happened) but basically I was wondering if I will be able to use the custom tail lights without any major modification (they were meant to be direct fit for 06 without any modification). Thank you

Wasn't going OEM, was going with these:

Lists them for fit from 2003-2007 that is why I was curious. A far as I know the housing are the same but they changed to LED in the later 4th gen years if I am not mistaken. I just looked up the part number you provided so it lists them for 06-09 I guess I will just order them anyways. Thank you!

yes all 4th gen 2003–2009 use the same fitment.

Yes, they will "fit", but the 2006 and up look very different than the older style.yes all 4th gen 2003–2009 use the same fitment.
