Dust Shield/Mod on Tundra Brake Upgrade--How Important?
The dust shield does what it's supposed to do, I'm told: it seals off the wheel/brake area from the hub area, so that brake dust doesn't penetrate the hub and hardware there. Otherwise, wouldn't all us upgraders be faced with servicing/rebuilding the hubs constantly? So, hopefully, when I upgrade to the Tundra front brakes, I can retain a decent shielding around the calipers, so that not too much dust penetrates. I couldn't find the S13WE/dust shield photo, showing where the dust shield needs modification. But, I'm hopeful the mechanic I choose maintains a decent part of the dust shield around the calipers up front. Thanks for the infos here, all. Again, if anyone would like my S13WE core calipers I'm not using, please advise.
