Just started hearing a winding noise from the engine of my 03 4runner. Anyone else have this problem? Thinking maybe a bad pulley or tensioner? No belt squeaks. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

yup. I would say the same thing. Either the idler pully or the tensioner pully. Take a hose and put it to your ear and use the other end of the hose to locate the noise. You can also use this to see if you have exhaust or vacuum leaks. If it is the tensioner pully you dont have to replace the whole unit. I ordered mine from rock auto and replaced just the pulley instead of the whole unit which requires the a/c pump to be removed. Dont forget to watch how the belt comes off. its a pain in the butt if you dont remember the routing.
