Window Bug Screen

Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep mosquitoes from entering an open window while camping/sleeping in their truck. Maybe a specific brand/model of mesh sunshade someone has used successfully. Or something homemade? Just looking to keep one passenger window or sunroof open. I have a 2017 Trail Premium.

Not advisable to drive around with this setup, but it's cheap and works well for camping/sleeping in the back of the rig.

Just buy one of these and cut to size with some sharp scissors.

Agreed, this works great! Did it for a trip last year. Looked at a few other solutions online but this was the cheapest and easiest and they hold in place surprisingly well. Also cut one for the back window (lift gate) although it was a little more tricky because of the curve and width (sorry no pics). For the lift gate I needed one full length piece and then a little 6" or so piece and round off the ends to fit the contours of the window and frame. The pieces store easily too and I ended up keeping them in the Runner for travelling in case we had to pull over and catch a quick snooze. They take two seconds to install.

I made this with $7 worth of mosquito netting and some double sided strip magnets from Joann Fabrics. Similar to [MENTION=85375]Brookey_813[/MENTION] posted. They slide over the top of the doors and the magnet holds them in place. You could probably make one for the sunroof as well. They work well in Zika infested South Florida.

I just took some regular nylon window screen, cut it larger than my moon roof. Rolled magnets on each corner then taped the end with gaffing tape. Its quick to setup and take down even with the roof rack. It also very cheap.

There is no reason you couldn't do the same for the side windows.
 
I bought those same ones from Amazon and received it yesterday. There was only one in the package and it had holes big enough I could almost get my hand through and the edges were all frayed. Some spots where they created a hem didn't have enough remaining material to fold over to sew a hem, like sections where cut out.
Disappointed that I must of received someone's damaged/ returned product. Than having to call up Amazon demanding a refund for something that's equivalent to torn up pantyhose and how I'm not taking my time to return garbage they didn't inspect. Eventually I received my refund.
Probably will reorder.

My neighbor suggested putting a mosquito net on the inside of the door and let it hang outside, put the window down, and then close the door. The lining of the door essentially makes the seal, if that makes sense. Cheap and effective.

Using these wouldn't work the same for the front windows because of the longer curve. You would have to cut multiple shorter pieces that would likely leave gaps and would be a pain to keep in place when raising the window to snug up to the seal.

The other mosquito net solutions would probably be your best bet for the front.

I'd agree with NrthRnr. Likely wouldn't work well on the front windows. But for the cost, it might be worth a shot?
 
I saved mesh windows from old tent and cut them to size. I wrap top part of door with the mesh and and fasten with magnetic strip at the bottom. It's fast to setup and take very little space when not in use.
For sunroof a little bit more of magnetic strip needed.
 
Did the back too....home Depot/Menards for the win....cheap!
