Windshield wipers won't turn off

1995 4runner - all of a sudden the windshield wipers won't turn off.

I had previously replaced the lights/signals/wipers switch for a different problem, so put the old one back on....the wipers still run when the ignition is on.

What are the chances that two wipers switches both failed closed? Pretty slim, I'd say.

For the time being I can just pull the fuse.

I priced the new part at AutoZone - over $500!

Anybody got any ideas?
