Purchased this week, arrived today. Everything “just works” includes USB cable and instructions. Tucks away nicely under USB/12V socket area.

- Pair once and it will automatically connect upon vehicle start.

- Volume is GOOD. Level with all sources. Important because once CarPlay is activated (cable or wireless) iPhones lose the ability to use the volume control, unlike generic Bluetooth A2DP audio.

- Maps, music, calls all broadcast. Since this is simply a wireless bridge to native CarPlay, the Toyota microphone is still able to be used.

Thanks for sharing information on this. I ordered the same one through Amazon and love not having to plug in the USB cabling anymore. It takes about 10-15 seconds for it to connect, but It’s definitely worth it for $100.
 
Please check back into this thread in a week or so with any updates. I've read some not-so-glowing reviews of this kind of device, related to it not pairing successfully regularly. Would love to find out that this has been fixed.

I watched a user review of a guy connecting it in his Mazda and it would connect for 30 seconds, drop out, repeat.

I kept all my paperwork and boxes, gave me peace of mind knowing that all Kohl’s locations accept Amazon returns!

Checking in with everybody - all is good! Still working. No resets like the one review I found.

- No need to update firmware even with 2021 models
- Be aware the default name when searching for the Bluetooth device says VolkswagenAG, but will change to Toyota once it connects for the first time
- Multiple devices can be connected, and you get a special startup screen if 2 or more devices are connected, letting you pick the right one every time

I've had one working flawlessly for close to a year now.
 
Was waiting for a reason to buy this.. this thread did me in, I guess. Will arrive Friday. Cheers, OP. :beer:
 
I also got one of these - not exactly the one linked, but from that page, select the one for cars 2020-2022. I've had it a few days, and it's been flawless, it just works as it's supposed to. It's a bit slow connecting when the car is powered on - it would be nice if it could do all that during the incredibly long screen boot up time, but it's not a huge issue.

My big concern was audio quality - whether the audio over bluetooth would sound as good as the wired connection, but so far, I haven't been able to tell much of a difference, if any. Volume levels seem the same. So playing flacs from the phone, and with the OEM+ Audio speakers installed, and this, the car is rocking!

If you only need wired to wireless, there are many adapters can achieve it nowadays. You go to search on Amazon, will show you many similar product from different brand. Nominally around 100 can go to the basic model. Recently, there are new version of the products released. Compare the basic model, new one can support both CarPlay and Android Auto in one. Moreover, they completely takes over your screen and loads up android OS on it. There are also many new function on it such as Split Screen and Install Any Google Play Store Apps.

What would anyone recommend for me. I have a T8 android head unit. No wireless chip in it for car play/android auto etc..
What dongle can I plug into USB port, then plug into my android phone and have android auto work on the T8?

So… there ARE CarPlay dongles for Android head units… to my knowledge there was not a special app I had to download. If you’re willing to take a risk (of having to return the part) you can try this:

Plug and Play Carplay Android Auto USB Dongle For Android Car Radio Support IOS IPhone Car touch screen control Siri Microphone voice control

Please do NOT get this unit mixed up with the very similar looking, incorrect one below:

HOWEVER if you buy BOTH boxes, you may be able to run one into the other and get wireLESS CarPlay / Android Auto.

I have one of these on a 2022 ORP and it only boots up successfully 20% of the time when the car is started. The other 80% of the time I need to keep unplugging it and re-plugging it in or I will get a "BT Error" that doesn't go away. When it boots up correctly it's pretty much smooth sailing though, other then a couple of times that it has frozen after phone calls.

Unfortunately their customer support is basically non-existent and sent me a canned response to the first email I sent, then didn't answer ANY of my following emails. Would not recommend if there are other working options out there.

Which one, specifically? I sent an Amazon link in the initial post and a link to 2 different products from Seicane’s website much later in the thread.

Thnx, I think it is the same as the Carlink, as they have the same part number, CPC 200 written on the side, yet they are different companys from China.

I was going to order one for my 22 ORP too but good thing I read your post. I think I'll hold off.
