So...new 300W roof Bar light coming soon.
Truck has:
Stock TRD PRO roof rack
SP 9100 on a power tray with the Blue Sea buss bar.
Auxiliary AGM battery powers the SP9100
Using the SDHQ /SP9100 switch mount instead of the "Toyota style" switches
All current accessories on the SP 9100 are pulling less than 8 AMPS per circuit, so no relays are used on these circuits.
The new Roof Bar puts out 300W (300W/13V=23A) Since the SP9100 high amp circuits are good for 34A There seems to be sufficient cushion to NOT need a separate relay on this. HOWEVER, wiring in a 45A relay would be an easy and (possibly needless?) safety cushion due to the length of the wiring run; and the fact that the bar conceivably could run for hours at a time.
1. Relay on this circuit or no?
2. Ground to battery or Roof Rack?
3. Upsize wire to 10Ga up the roof channel on this application, or no?
How would you do it?
