Yes, but there has to be some reason the seller hasn't just done that. It probably has a lien against it. I'd stay away.

I'd be concerned about buying the rig and then the cops showing up a week later saying that I just purchased a stolen vehicle!

That truck has STOLEN written all over it. NO plates?! That alone tells me something is up..add the fact the "seller" cant spell and the description is very short..waay to good to be true

Just FYI, it's illegal to sell a Vehicle without a title in MO. Without a title you have no idea if the person you're getting the vehicle from actually owns it.
If you buy this, and it turns out to be stolen you may not be held legally responsible, but you stand to lose all your money. There's a very good reason why nearly every post in this thread is telling you to stay away from this.

It doesn't say that there's no vin. You can do a vin check using vin audit (it's just like carfax) for $10. If by then you are still skeptical, just walk away.

In his state you still can't legally buy it without a title. It's a waste of time.

There is zero % reason why a vehicle should have "no title".
Salvage title - maybe, clean title - what should happen.
1) Craiglist purchases are sketchy

I purchased a 97 auto sr5 in Washington State in the beginning of March with a title and a bill of sale. During my initial inspection everything seemed to check out. Owner came out from a nice white-picket fenced home with a well manicured lawn and garden wearing clean clothes, made eye contact with clear white eyes and seemed friendly. He told me he needed a truck for work and this 4runner wasn't cutting it for him. I purchased the vehicle with cash and we both parted ways. It was only after I had gotten home that I realized his the name on the bill of sale didn't match the name on the title. Called, texted, no answer. I went in to the DOL the following morning and the woman behind the desk said that because one of the numbers in the vin on the BOS had a tiny tiny scribble underneath it, that I would have to get another. Here I am thinking, M*********er! I do a quick google search of the legal owner and it turns out he was arrested two Octobers ago for possession, manufacturing, and distribution of Heroin. "Oh boy, what have I gotten myself into" I thought.
A few months later, after having knocked on the seller's door on multiple occasions, the tabs we're expiring (JUNE 2019) and I needed to get new ones. So last week I go into the the DMV to get tabs and the woman there tells me the title isn't even valid but it was not reported stolen, there wasn't a lein on the vehicle, and that the name on the title I had was the legal owners name and address. She told me I needed to send a release of interest/lost title document in a certified envelope for him to sign and return. She told me that if he did not respond within 15 days I could take the receipt, or the unopened letter (if returned) into the DMV and they would give me a form which I would need to take to the Washington State Patrol to set up an inspection of both the vehicle and the documents I possessed.
After passing inspection I would need to return to the DMV and only THEN could I apply for a "3-year registration" which would allow me to be a registered owner and enable me to get tabs and insurance for the vehicle. I
Now... the way she presented this to me made this seem all too easy. After further research I found out that if this guy, for whatever reason reports his car stolen, they can/will impound the vehicle until the issue is resolved.
When I found this out my heart sank but immediately started thinking of how I can win this horrible battle. It's been a month since then and I've come up with one alternative to a 3-year registration but that will cost me $1500 and with some benefits/drawbacks - Strip this beautiful machine I've returned glory to over the past 5 months (fox/Bilstein Toytec lift, projector headlights, wheels/tires, LBJ's, tie rods, pretty much every bushing you could think of, links, rear axle seals/bearings, all OEM, PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING in terms of longevity repairs) and swap everything onto a truck with a blown engine
OR
do a body swap with a cheap (rusty frame or blown engine) truck.
I know this is long, totally my own fault, and simply, who cares? But I'm young, dumb, and in dire need of advice. This is only my (not even mine) second vehicle I've purchased and never had anyone around to show me the ropes of buying a car (CLEARLY) but I'm hoping someone on this forum either in this situation or close to it can shed some light/give your .02 on it (Don't hold back). I work long hours but short weeks which gives me 3 days off every week and I love wrenching on cars, but I'd also like to save some money/time I could be spending finishing other projects.
