Hello everyone. Here is my big problem i have a 1990 v6 4runner with 280k miles on it. When I start it up it idles fine no problems at all. However when I goto drive it the truck don't want to get up and go. It revs up to 3k rpm and just stays there If you floor it. Then if you let off a little it will shift and speed up but then stalls at three k rpm again. There is no vacuum leaks. I have bought a new maf a new throttle position sensor removed and cleaned the throttle body. I really have no idea where else to turn and what could be the problem. Does anyone here have any idea where I should look next. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for looking and helping.

Is your exhaust leaking?
just fixed the same thing on my toyota 1991 rv6 3.0. I had dirty injectors, plus needed a new mass airflow meter, and a new fuel filter. My money is on any of these three things mate. good luck. let us all know what the problem is when you find out. good for future reference.

Im pretty sure the injectors were causing most, if not all my problems and the other things needed replacing but not needed to make it driveable.. having dirty injectors will seriously slow you down and hold back revs like a *****!

I got a 95 with a totally rebuilt 3vze... then this began to happen to me on the freeway. I have no idea why. I would cap out at about 50 mph, and it wouldn't go past 3,000 RPMs. It was random, sometimes it would happen, sometimes it wouldn't. Eventually it just stopped doing that and after a few months started to run fine everyday. So no idea what happened there. I took it into a shop to get the starter replaced, and then it started happening AGAIN. I called the shop to ask them what the f&*% they did to my truck to make it do this. The guy told me it was just the computer "resetting" itself. A few weeks later it became normal again. Not sure if that's any help. Somebody once said it might be a timing issue.
