Hi guys,

So I've been on the hunt for a 3rd gen 4Runner for a while now and the ones I have my eyes on keep slipping away from me. I've been on Craigslist this site eBay pretty much everything you can think of. The only ones that I could possibly have a chance at getting are all the way accross the country, which kinda sucks because I'm all the way in California and is hate to fly accross to just turn back around empty handed.

Anyways, I'm looking for a 1998-2002, I'm pretty picky with this so please don't tell me you have a 93 or a older model or anything like that. It has to be a 4x4 and I'd like it to be automatic. I know kinda lame but my daily is already a stick and I just need this for the weekends or camping trips.

I'm looking for something with under 200k miles, the exterior color can be pretty much any color, the interior can also be any color. I would prefer the leather option but as long as the leather isn't too torn up or ripped, I'm located in California but I would be willing to go out of the state for it. Probably as far as Colorado.

My budget really varies on what condition the truck is in, and if it has add ons or lifts or things like that.

I've been trying to get a descent one for the last year, and they just slip by me at the last minute. Today for example I was gonna drive up and meet up but the seller sold it right before I could even take off. 2 days ago I lost another one from Craigslist. And I'm still trying to convince another seller to put their truck back on the market because they cancelled the sale because of loan issues.

So as you can see, it's been a bit of a journey for me. So if anyone had something available or knows a cousin or uncle or step mom or anything like that, I'd appreciate a heads up

I've got one. But it suffered front ball joint failure. 1000$. New tires. 2 inch lift. missing front left tire. Going to need at least 1000$ in repair. But this would be a chance to customize a suspension.

I lost a 2000 gold with tan leather interior in the Bay Area for $5500 last week but it had a salvage tile but only 110k miles

I lost another silver, 2001 with 160k miles. Only 1 owner. Well kinda, the owner that had it purchased it that week and never registered it under their name so it was still listed as 1 owner. It sold for 5500 in Palm Springs

This past weekend I lost a 2001 green with leather interior, only 1 owner with 180k miles, it was in Seattle. Good thing I didn't book a flight. The dealership listed it for 5800

As of right now, I found one in Colorado, it had 140k miles. Salvage title due to a rear ended collision but it went from salvage title to fixed title. So the truck is now fixed. The person had no records for the repairs, and no records for any maintenance, the current owner purchases vehicles fixes them and sells them. Kinda sketchy but it's only $4700

I know, it sounds sketchy so I'm staying away from that guy. Plus I asked him if he had frame damage and I haven't heard from him since, so kinda sketchy

99 Limited, white, 37k miles

Recently I was working on picking one up last week in SoCal. The seller was from here, I didn't try to low ball and told him I would pay his asking price. I asked for some pics of the under carriage and never heard back until the next day when he told me he sold it locally, kinda sketchy but whatever. What really got me mad was the fact that I met his price got transportation from the Bay Area to SoCal scheduled and got the money ready to go and he flaked out on me.

But it's ok, I'm still on the hunt so if anyone has one or knows of one please let me know. I'm ok with going out of state as long as the truck is worth it. The budget all depends on what the rig has to offer but it's pretty open

I'm looking for a 3rd gen limited if possible and automatic. Preferably 99-02 and a clean carfax

Buy that green one. Shit is nice! It's got low mileage, it's in great shape, and it's under priced.
