WTB: 2014+ 4runner Trail

I am in desperate need of finding an affordable 4runner. If I am going to be making payments on a vehicle, I need it to be a vehicle I really want, so...

-2014 or 2015
-Trail
-Non-premium (no sunroof)
-No accidents (clean title)
-Non-smoker
-Any color other than black!
-Routine maintenance done please.
-No steering wheel shake
-Minimal rust (sorry folks from N.E.)


Going off KBB values, I need to be at $22k or less, so 80-100k miles about. I will drive or fly anywhere in the country for it. I do not have the income for anything more expensive, so please help me find one. Someone here must be looking to upgrade. I assure you it will be just as easy as trading it in.

Located in Pennsylvania, but of course able to travel if needed (will need to obtain rental car from unreliable Enterprise location).

Wishing you luck friend, but I searched used Trails for a long time before deciding to buy new. The price gap was just way too small between a used and new. The only Trails I’ve seen in your price range were very high mileage 2010-2013 models. Hopefully yours is out there though.

Man they charge a premium. I imagine they are rust free, but I’ll take a bit of frame surface rust to save $7k anyday. Thanks for the lead.

I really don’t understand why they are priced so high. $35k msrp for a 14 Trail and some dealerships want $28k with 65,000 miles. I cannot do that. I could buy a pristine 12 Xterra Pro4x with 90k miles for $11k. It’s just that I have a semi-bad back and the Xterra seats shake over bumps and on the highway.

I really do feel that something has to happen with these inflated prices. Affordability is not in Toyota’s skillset apparently.

You're welcome for the lead but I really don't think they over charge at all - especially considering they're a dealership that thoroughly goes thru every vehicle. Check Autotrader / Cars.com... they're right in line, if not less, than many other Trails out there. Just buy my '11 and be done with your search. :wink2: Good luck with the search - it took me a couple months to find my current 3rd gen. Just gotta be patient.

lol. sr5 2014+ non-permium with 80-100k miles will maybe be in your price range. no way you'll find a trail that low unless it's trashed.

Your follow-up about the Xterra complaint explains why the 4R (or Toyotas in general) hold their value. Yes you'll pay more because they'll outlast, out perform and out sell any other vehicle made. Period.

Or buy a Jeep and be prepared to Just Empty Every Pocket

I have a 2014 Premium Trail with 71 K miles, original owner, clean as Fk
I thought about upgrading to a TRD Pro and dealer I bought it from offered $27k

Private sale maybe a little closer to 30k
Why? By it's a Toy 4runner PT
 
I was looking for the same at the beginning of the year. Realized trail was out of the question for me at the time. Got a 2016 sr5 w 40k for 28k and that was the cheapest I found (ca prices). Kind of wish I would have bit the bullet and got a new trail premium
