Hello Everyone!

I'm looking to buy a 3rd gen 4WD 4Runner under 150k miles. I'm mainly looking for the 1999-2002 models in Millennium Silver or Thunder Cloud Metallic (Gray) 4WD w/ e-locker.
I can also do Black, White or Imperial Jade Mica. I'm interested in any of the trims but if I can find one of the sports editions that'd be great.

Condition and mileage of the vehicle is what will be most important as I plan on keeping this car for a long time. I'm on a budget of about $10K.
If possible, I'd like to stay in the Southern California Area but will also be willing to drive maybe 6hours to make the deal happen.
I know this may be a long shot but I figured if there's any place to find my unicorn it'd be here! Thanks for reading everyone.

Check out the Bay Area Craigslist. I've seen a few for sale, I'll send you some links tomorrow when I get to work

Thanks TJ!! I have contacted two sellers that advertised less than 75K miles on their rigs but when I asked for the VIN# or carfax they stopped responding. They also would not subject to an inspection from a certified toyota mechanic, said they didn't have time and family blah blah blah. I believe they were mainly in the San Jose Area.
 
Well guy I found your . I was interested in the exact same thing but only 99 to 2000 as I think the 4 wheel drive system is better. Southern California dealer, this thing is immaculate and it has the rear Locker. I just got off the phone Lyndsey at the dealership and told them that I thought their price was too high, the boss is out of town till Monday they're going to get back to me if they have some wiggle room on the price. I think 8500 to 9 Grand is all I would pay for this but that's me. This truly looks like an unmolested great start to a project which is what I wanted to transfer all of my parts on two. Got a little over a hundred and fifty thousand miles on the clock but in great shape. I can play Bad Cop with them if you want and try to haggle them down lower and then you can come in over me if you want. This is most likely a trade-in or they bought it at an auction but if it's a trade in there's no way they paid more than 4 grand for it. https://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/30370239

Found one!

Just found one from a T4R.org forum member. Was lucky enough to snag it an hour after he posted it on craigslist. It was a 2001 156k miles 4Runner 4wd Sports Edition with center diff lock in silver. Picked it up for $7.7k!! Thanks for all the help everyone.
 
Congrats! I'm in the same EXACT market though I don't necessarily need the e-locker - my budget is 5-8k. The one that CentrlCoast4Runner looks great, but agree the price is a bit steep. Has anyone had any experience with purchasing with these kinds of places? They always look so promising but there's always some kind of horror story peppered in to their reviews.

Harrison is a small, family run shop a few miles from me. I've looked at a few T4Rs there. Pretty sure they get all/most at auction. I never found one worth haggling over, but agree their asking prices are on the high side.

Hey boys, I'm also looking for the exact same criteria (10k budget, v6 4x4 5 speed manual, less than 175k miles, almost any color, with or without e-locker), so if anyone sees this and is trying to sell here in San Diego or relatively nearby, shoot me a PM please.

I'm in the same boat. According to the thread here, the magic number is 20 replies. That seems like a lot, but you might find some creative ways to get 20 in quickly.
