no brand in particular..am open to any type custom/factory....i just want something that loooks good and is durable and probablly be plug n play or weld n play looking to spend $350.u gat any recommendations?

You would probably need to build your own to get it for that price. There might be a few places that sell a do it yourself kit for just a little more than $350. I'm not familiar with whats out there for 4th gens but know you can buy steel locally and buy your hinges and latches online.

Outdoor logic is good with 3rd gens but if you cant diy then you may be looking at as much as $1000. Id check with some of the vendors on this forum first to see what kinda prices they have.

But seriously, a NEW bumper with tire carrier is going to cost you some major coinage. Even if you find one used you're still looking at around $600-$800. I know a plated new one for our 3rd gen is about $1400+
Have you thought about maybe just mounting a tire carrier to your stock hitch? CBI makes a very nice fold down hitch mount tire cattier and it's more in your price range. Take a look >>> Click Here

oh..so one has to buy both the tire carrier and bumper?....my bad...though i could just buy only the swing out tire carrier......well it seems i just hv to increase my war chest...

Like stated above you could get a hitch mounted tire carrier and keep your stock bumper

If you are close to alabama I could build you a swing out that mounts in the receiver.

Guys looking for a hitch mounted swing out carrier...I don't want to speak for toyxterra but I dont have anything built yet. I was willing to help someone local that could drive to my house to get this done.
I know I saw a guy on Ih8mud selling a hitch mounted swingout from a manufacturer but I can't remember the name of the company.
I don't think it's available for our 4runners but 80 series Landcruisers have an option for a swingout that mounts behind the factory bumper and comes out through one of the ends of the bumperette. It could be accomplished on 4runners too but not exactly in the same way.
Here's a link however I wouldnt build one this complicated Kaymar Tire Carrier with Stock OEM Bumper 80 Series
