Im looking for a SAS'd 1st-3rd gen, the latter preferred. Would also prefer a rig that is streetable to avoid a trailer but this is negotiable. I recently missed out on a beautiful 1st gen and have been kicking myself ever since so putting out a feeler to see what I may find.

Budget is 15k (cash in hand) maybe more if its a gem, but would prefer something cheaper. Itll all depend on the vehicle in question.

I have a built V8 4th gen (still ifs) that I may be willing to trade or sell to make a deal happen.

The only thing this is missing is a front drive shafts. I've owned this truck for 6 years I've loved every minute of this. This right is very capable of running any trail you want. The only reason I'm selling is I need to take care of things that came up and I need the money. I'm asking $12,000 I don't wants trades I need the cash. I know there are things I'm missing but I have most of it there. This is one of the cleanest 4runner in Colorado. You will never find another one like this."

Sounds like a sexy build and I am definitely interested. Any info or contacts you can give is appreciated.

Big thanks to everyone else who has sent me messages with builds. I knew there had to be a couple guys out there on the fence to sell with no ads up yet.

What about this one?

I saw this floating around on Craig's list in AZ. I almost don't want to show you because I was dreaming about it. Don't think I could talk my wife into it just yet. Hope it might be what you're looking for.

Built Toyota 4runner SAS

Cheers!

Nice find, sir!! And a good price. Ill have to look into this one a little bit. Id be doing whatever possible to get the wife to budge on that if I were you. My only downfall for that one is distance.

when you are looking at SAS converted trucks be sure to inspect the front spring hanger at the frame. The Trail-Gear style front hangers tend to put a lot of strain on the frame. I experienced a cracked frame while out rock crawler, i have seen multiple other cases too. Having a frame gusset between the frame and hanger helps to alleviate some of the stress. Fixing a frame is a PITA

good luck in your search, you have a nice budget:guitar2:

All the Yota boys must keep their rigs.... Id hate to end up in a jeep.

I could help you avoid that fate if you want to buy a non SAS-d Gen 2. About to post it up in the FS Classifieds. No other mods - but the difference between my asking price and your budget would leave you a lot of money for the build.

Thanks for the heads up. At this point I have decided if I take on a build I will be swapping tons under my 4th gen and thats kind of what Im trying to avoid lol On another note, all the jeep cool kids are doing lq or ls swaps and axle upgrades left and right. I have found some really nice stuff and since all the bad jeep components are gone maybe it wont be so bad? Decisions, decisions....:playball:

if not aloud plz delete - new member here- and not to hijack your post but i am also looking for a 1st gen custom - have about a $20k budget. Also can trade a 2008 tacoma 4 door - six speed 4x4 with cold air intake and performance exhaust. (she has a lot of miles on her though and some rode bruises)
