XREAS and 285/70/17s

Camber was in but on the limit. Coil overs are cranked to max recommended from icon. It's 3/2 but I don't know how much higher than stock it is, the bumper and winch squash it down a bit.

I hated the xreas, the icons ride so much better. Save money in the long run, and just jump on the coil overs. Why waste money money on spacers if they're only temporary?

Well I plan on putting some miles on the 4runner before I dig into it too much. I have an 08 sport that is being shipped in with only 17k miles on it and I want to use it for a little while doing some easy/mild offroading for camping and fishing etc.. Once it is payed down I can look into a coilover setup. Itll be my daily driver/family hauler for a while before it becomes another "toy" as my wife calls it. So simple and cheapish for now and once the "suspension goes bad" cough cough..(if you know what I mean) Ill replace it with a solid coilover setup.

See.. then you have to go and do that. I think its against T4R policy to post pics of 4x4 pron. That looks really nice.... So in comparison, I have driven some limited v8 4runners, and a sport v8 both with the xreas, and I liked the way the sport rode and handled so much better than the limited because it seemed a little tighter, less body roll etc. How does your coil over setup compare with body roll and overall stiffness to the stock sport ride?

How much did you pay for the FJ wheels? Those look perfect on the 4runner.

Coilovers are stiffer, more dampening, and less body roll.

$600 for the wheels (5) plus shipping to me. Just keep an eye out on the FJ cruiser forums. FJ guys sell them all the time for aftermarket wheels, and these have 3/4" more offset so they fit perfect and don't need spacers.

I have the cornfed spacers and just put on BFG 275/70/17 and encountered significant rubbing in front when steering. Did some trimming and moved the internal covers fwd by drilling new holes. Still getting slight rubbing on the splash guards, but nothing drastic.

do you rub at full lock? under compression? just curious.

Thats funny, my old 02 Pathfinder did that as well with 31.5s on it. That was the only time it would rub as well.
