XREAS removal question

I know this issue has been covered in previous posts (most of which I have read) but I have a question.

For those of you who had XREAS as original equipment on their 4Runners and installed aftermarket shocks - Did any of you have problems with fluid leaking from the connectors once the original XREAS shocks were removed and you drove the car?

My auto repair place (who I trust) are advising me to remove all of the XREAS equipment when they perform the FJ Spring/ 5100 shock swap. According to the front desk guy they have done 5 after market shock swaps on 4Runners and on the first 2 they did (removing the shocks only) fluid leaked out over time and they had to eventually remove the entire system.

I showed him a diagram of the XREAS system and he confirmed the correct disconnect point.

Feedback? Thanks!

I left the XREAS tubing on for 3 weeks not a drop of oil on my garage floor. So no it won't leak if its detached at the pressure valves.

If they are removing the system for free just let them rip it out.

If not: Its a 7 minute job if you have a screw driver and a socket set. I didn't even jack up my truck.

If you're going to remove the XREAS shocks, rip out all the other stuff too. It's not a big deal. Think of it as a minor weight savings.
