Yet another shock/suspension question

How do the 2003-2009 4runner suspensions compare to 3rd gen? Would there be any advantage to changing them out if you could get it for really cheap? It's stock front & rear + springs.

Only the 87th time this week we've seen "Yet Another shock/suspension question" posted. There's a reason why they sell shocks/struts for 03-09's, 96-02's, and not 96-09's. There not the same due to different designs in the suspension and body. The springs would give you a slight lift, but that's all that'll work for you.

From what I have read and been told the 4th gen suspension won't fit a 3rd gen.
