What do I do with my flares?

I've got a 99 with the black flares that flow into the running boards. I want to remove the boards, but dont really know what to do with the front flares. They stop a few inches above the bottom of the fender and look weird. I can either:

A. cut a small portion of the running board and attach or B. Try and locate mud gaurds that flow with the flare, however I cant find OEM ones and dealers are having no luck.

I guess in the rear I can just hack off the small section that hangs down.

Any other opinions? Why couldnt they make these like the limited style as it would be much easier.

I used the SEARCH feature and found this thread: HERE about removing your running boards and dealing with the mud flap issue on the SR5 models with the plastic trim.

For part numbers, read the 10th post.

I love your wheels. Mine looks like crap since all the clear is peeling. I think I'd stick with my stockers if I could match the color you have. Is it satin black? or just flat?

Thanks! My clear was peeling too, that was the main reason I painted them actually and I like they way they came out better than the alloy look. I didn't even feel like sanding them, I just cleaned them good and shot them w/ 2-3 coats of Rustoluem flat black. The paint has held up fine for about 6 months now and through a nasty winter.
