I've had the 2007 SR5 4WD for about 2 1/2 years now, and have had the bug to mod this truck since I got it. I wanted to wait until I wore out the tires that came with it before upgrading tires, and that took quite some time w/ the Michelin Cross terrains it came with.

When I first found this site, I used it to help decide my first small changes to my truck. First thing was to tint the front windows...all of my vehicles get that first. Next thing I added in was a Curt tow hitch, it was exactly the hitch I was looking for and it was priced right.

I added weather tech in channel window visors , and a Toyota bug deflector next for a little more custom look.

On the maintenance side, I switched my engine oil, front and rear differentials and transfer case over to Mobil 1 full synthetic oils.....I would highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't done this yet. My trip computer ( inaccurate I know ) immediately noted a 0.5 mpg improvement after the switch.

Here is a picture of the truck as she looked up to a couple of weeks ago. Nice truck, but lacked the umphhh I wanted and looked just like every other mall crawler I passed and saw.

After reading countless threads and spending WAY too much time on here reading about lift spacers, wheel spacers and all the other ways to get bigger tires on this thing. I decided I might opt for the least expensive and quickest way to make my truck look nicer, I tried to order a Cornfed 3/2 and spidertrax spacers but ( in hind sight I am glad ) there was a wait to get them to me. SO I sat back and rethought my priorities, maybe I should take the advice I hear from many people who add the spacers? Some of them knew they would eventually upgrade to a suspension lift and new wheels, they liked the look w/ spacers but wanted a true performance upgrade.

I decided to wait it out and go all out when I did mine. Suspension lift was the way to go, I wanted to get rid of the soft ride of the SR5...too much body roll and generally a "mushy" feel. I wanted a firmer and more sporty ride. I shopped for lift kits, and was torn between the OME and Toytec Ultimate, I decided to go for the Toytec after all of the good write ups and reading how a few people wished they had Toytec over the OMEs.

BFGs were the tire of choice for me, I have owned 4 sets....although I did at least consider Nittos, GYSA, Revos and many others.

Enough talk, heres what I wound up getting.

-Toytec Ultimate lift kit, w/ Rear Icon shocks
-Pro Comp Extreme Cast Black 7105s
-BFG ATs 275/70/17

As you can see, the stock wheels and tires weren't going to cut it with the Toytec lift......needed some offset and real rubber to go in the big hole left!

So the next day after putting about 100 miles on the lift kit, I took a ride to the Tire shop and had them put on my new wheels and add some BFG ATs around the Pro Comps. I was hesitant to get the 275/70s because they only came in an E Load.....I went over to Toyota120 and did some reading, and decided that E Loads would be fine for me and these tires are GREAT!

They do not ride "harsh" and rough like I had read some reports of, I guess maybe those with negative opinions of them had them on stock setups??? I can tell you that with the Toytec setup and running them at at 40 PSI, the truck rides great!

Thanks!! I did the whole lift by myself, a second set of hands would have been extremely helpful at times....wound up taking longer doing it all alone, but nothing a 12 pack of Corona lights didn't make better

Thanks guys! I really love the setup, and I waited to post anything until I had run it for a while so I could give some honest feedback.

Toytec lift is awesome and rides VERY well... E Load BFGs ride nicely with this setup, despite contrary opinions on here. As for the wheels, offset and Backspacing are PERFECT for what I wanted.

If it wasn't for nasty saltwater, we couldn't have any fun here in Florida!

I have had quite a few "Bad A$$" comments and looks, but my favorite yet was the other day at the store. A couple pulled next to me in a newer Landcruiser and parked, they both got out and did several laps around my truck pointing and talking to each other....I couldn't hear them, but I'm sure it amounted to "Badd A$$" !

Pretty good prices, I think I will be happy w/ these. I will be replacing the headunit w/ a Kenwood ddx616 pretty soon also. I did the speakers first because I will be amping and adding a sub w/ the HU.

No pics for now, but some new additions:

Kenwood DDX616 Head unit (DVD,Bluetooth, touchscreen) paired up w/ Infinity speakers. Sounds really good, very crisp and clean sound. Used the PAC SWI-JAK for steering wheel controls, works good.

Installed the roof rack, good product for the price and will be good for limited loads on the roof.

Blacked out the badges with Plasti-Dip, Very easy to do and looks really good against the silver yota....goes well with all of the other black on the truck.

Cant wait to get some new pictures up, but I have been very happy with my list of mods so far!

If you think that replacing your stock speakers (non-JBL) won't make a difference, than look at the junk I pulled out of mine! I wish I had a picture of the magnet, it was about 2 ounces and like an inch around! I really cannot believe these speakers actually sounded as good as they did ?

With some ingenuity I made my new infinitys fit, had to tear apart the Toyota tweeter up front to make a bracket for the infinity tweets. The rear speakers I wound up drilling some holes in the metal part of the door to make them work The first hole is the most painful, each one after that gets easier.

That speaker does look weak. It really is amazing they sound as good as they do. Looks like you may have just cost me a couple of bucks.

If I might suggest, I would only upgrade the speakers if you plan on also upgrading the head unit either at the same time or sometime in the future. I did notice a difference in sound of course, but the real difference came when I hooked up the Kenwood receiver! I will be adding a sub and amps to the whole setup to complete the sound, but chose to "piece together" my new system and this approach worked best for me.

I always loved my runner long before my recent mods, but now this thing looks so nice......lifted 4th gens get lots of looks where I'm from, and I am really loving some of the looks/comments I've gotten since the lift and wheels.

For those thinking of a lift, do it right the first time even if it means waiting to do the work (its what I wound up doing)
