What Tundra springs are these?

Anyone have any idea on what Tundra model these struts may have come from? I know they are not the coveted y/y and y/b springs, but I was wondering if the coils and/or springs would work on a front lift for the Runner...

I did some searching already, but couldn't find anything on the springs shown in the picture.

Most likely a double cab TRD Tundra. They can be used, but I've heard they have a higher spring rate. Can't verify that, but just what I heard.
 
Hmmm...well I was able to read the VIN off the tag in that picture, and verify that it came off a 2006 Tundra Access Cab SR5, if I read this correctly:
05/2006 TOYOTA TUNDRA (UCK40L-ARBSKA)
SR5 USA ACB SD 2UZFE ATM 5HC

Using toyodiy.com or other parts vendor sites brings up the following spring options:

Left side:
48131-AF420 L=363.5
48131-AF520 L=356.5

Right side:
48131-AF410 L=358.5
48131-AF510 L=351.5

Not sure what that tells me, however :shrug:
 
They will work as a lift, but I don't know for sure what the ride will be like. I'm sure it will be the same or not noticeable at all. If they are cheap enough go for it.
 
These could be from a TRD 4x4 AC. I'm running yellow/red, yellow/purple from a 2wd TRD AC. They gave me 1-1/2" of lift without spacer. The ride and performance are great. I would give them a try. If you do post the results. Here is some info I found when I researched Tundra coils:

Stock 4x2 AC:
driver side = white/yellow marks
passenger side = white/blue marks

Stock 4x4 AC: 7/8" Lift
driver side = green/yellow marks
passenger side = green/blue marks

TRD 4x2 AC: 1-1/2” Lift
driver side = yellow/red marks, orange/red marks
passenger side = yellow/purple marks, orange/orange marks

TRD 4x4 AC: Lift?
driver side = yellow/yellow marks, Blue/orange marks, Blue/Blue marks
passenger side = yellow/blue marks, Blue/Red marks, blue/green marks, Green/Green marks
 
Looking at the possible spring lengths:

Left side:
48131-AF420 L=363.5 = 14.3"
48131-AF520 L=356.5 = 14.0"

48131-AF100 Y/Y L=378.0 = 14.9"


Right side:
48131-AF410 L=358.5 = 14.1"
48131-AF510 L=351.5 = 13.8"

48131-AF090 Y/B L=371.5 = 14.6"


So, these coils I found could be anywhere from 0.6-0.9" shorter than the Y/Y coils on the driver side and 0.5-0.8" shorter than the Y/B coils on the passenger side. I'm worried they just won't provide adequate lift. I would like around 2-2.5" of lift on the front.

I also wonder if those shocks included with the coils are any good. Do you think they could be the same Bilstein HD shocks that are used with the AF100/AF090 coils? Each strut assembly would run me $75 plus shipping. That's really not that great of a deal unless I can use the shocks too.

The bar code on those shocks is 48510-AF200. I couldn't seem to pair that to a coil part number online, but called the local Toyota dealer, and the parts guy gave me some coil part numbers, shown below.

Driver: 48510-AF320
SPRING, FRONT COIL, LH.
SPRING, COIL, FR L=369; OFF ROAD PACKAGE,L=369 (14.5")

Passenger: 48131-AF310
SPRING, FRONT COIL, RH.
SPRING, COIL, FR L=363.5; OFF ROAD PACKAGE,L=363.5 (14.3")

If these are indeed the springs in that picture, then they would be approx. 0.4" and 0.3" shorter than the Y/Y and Y/B springs, respectively.

So I wonder if these babies would work, and how much lift they would give - maybe 2"? I wonder if they would pair ok w/ Bilstein 5100s? Or I wonder if I could use the shocks they come with, at least for awhile...? The yard selling them indicated 75,000 miles on the truck, but the struts are also labeled as "replacement", so who knows how old they are. There's a fair amount of corrosion on the shocks.

What rear lift do you have or are you going for? Less front lift is somewhat desirable, IMO. $75 EACH for strut assy's with 75k miles on them seems high to me. These are from a junkyard?
 
Doh- I think the parts guy at the local dealer gave me incorrect part numbers for those springs (he didn't sound very confident on the phone now that I think about it; I think he was just trying to get me off the phone). In The4kbeast's build thread he used the AF320/310 springs, and they had a different color coding than the ones I'm looking at.
 
Called another dealer, much more helpful. Still no final solution, but we were able to determine that the springs are one of the following:

Driver:
48131‑AF420 UCK40..ACB, L=363.6 = 14.3"
48131‑AF520 UCK40..ACB, L=356.5 = 14.0"

Passenger:
48131‑AF410 UCK40..ACB, L=358.5 = 14.1"
48131‑AF510 UCK40..ACB, L=351.5 = 13.8"

Unfortunately, I don't know if the springs are the longer or the shorter versions shown above. The longer ones may work.

And I also agree, the price on these struts isn't very good, I think I'll keep looking...
 
$75 each plus shipping is too much! I paid $80 shipped for a complete set that looked brand new on craigslist. I said to try them thinking you had them. Keep searching.

I just junkyard searched and one of my local yards has them for $60 each. Would at least save from shipping.
