Better come back. It's only 15% now. Bargain. Actually, what happened was the federal govt lowered the GST from 7% to 5% so the NS government thought it would be a great idea to increase the PST from 8% to 10%.
So there is that component and the progressive provincial tax rates that start higher than most other provinces and increase to much higher rates. At $150k your marginal tax rate hits 50%.
