Mudflap suggestions for SR5 w/o running board or fender flare

Howdy,

I recently removed my running boards, put in a lift, and upgraded to 33's on aftermarket rims my 98 SR5. The issue I am having now is that I lost my mud guard from the running boards, and the new tire/wheel combo sticks out an inch or two. I found a few posts that solved this problem for people with fender flares, but I don't have those unfortunately. What have others done for aftermarket mudflaps with this combination?

I was cheap and grabbed some from a ranger at the junk yard for $15. Took a little trimming but they don't fit too bad.

Yah maybe I am over thinking things and should just go OEM. My only concern is that they might not block enough dirt/rock with the 33 inch duratracs I just put on. The tires + rims are definitely wider than what I had before. I just want to avoid sand blasting the paint off the side my truck.. lol.

The bushwhackers are a good option as well, but seems like a steep price for what they are. I don't think Id ever be able to properly color match them with my current 18 yo paint job.

Did you do this yourself and do you have a pic? Trying to make it clean looking, and I am on the fence about my arts and crafts skills.

I like to make my own. I go to a transport supply place and buy 1 big transport truck mud flap. More than enough material to make 2 for the front in any shape you desire.

The material is very good quality too. Nice cloth reinforced, flexible rubber.
 
If im correct in reading this right, you say you want a mudflap option to keep from spraying mud/sand/etc on your paint. A mudflap will help, but having 33s with no fender flare whatsoever is still gonna create a lot of mess on the side of your truck mud flap or no mudflap. If your worried about paint upkeep, you would save money up front buying flares them trying to repair paint on the backend.

Sorry if this doesn't answer your original question though.
 
Does anyone know what they are called or where I can get the following?

Wanting the square plastic female side for the factory square holes to mount the Mudflap too. I removed mine and broke them to trim the plastic inner fender liner. They hold the inner liner in place, and the factory plastic fronts to the running board screw into the center. I think I can get away using them again to mount the new mudflap but can't find those inserts.
