Mmm! Rusty!

being that mine's '04, I noticed rusted areas here and there under the truck. Especially, whatever the thing its called, plate thingy that is the base for the rotor's all rusted up. What kind of maintenance do I need to do?

noticed mad rusted bolts. Boo!

Not quite sure what you mean? Do you just want the rust off of your rotors, you want the rust off to be removed from the bottom of the truck or did you just want the rust off the bolts?
 
I mean dang near everything! Especially bots though, I don't want them to rust and fall off while I'm driving.

Those are heavy gauge frame parts and cast iron brake and braket parts. Trust me, those will last longer than you'll own the rig. But if it bothers you, get POR-15 in Black and paint over rusted areas to seal and stop further rust.www.por15.com

The rust is not going to cause anything to fail (even bolts) but if you just have to get rid of it you will first need to remove it, then cover it with a rust-proof topcoat. First, scrape the rust with a steel brush to get most of it off. Not necessary to get it all off. Then you will have to apply a topcoat. POR 15 is good stuff but very, very, very bad for your lungs and should only be used with an external air source. I use Zero Rust on my trucks which requires nothing more than a good mask to filter the harmful particles. Personally, I don't think it's worth the effort.
 
oh interesting. I'm just trying to make this sweet truck last forever. Discovering all that rust under got me worried, but seems like I can just leave it alone. Cool! Thanks! Bet you gun invest all that money you saved in Iraq to modify your runner into a BEAST! Haha!
