Hidden winch mount for 14+ limited 4R

I've looked through archived threads and couldn't find a clear answer, all of the hidden winch mount compose say it is not compatible with a LE, however I believe the frames are identical to other trims, so would it just involve cutting through extra plastic? Anyone have any experience?

Bud built makes one and the Pelfrey one works with some finessing according to them.

I went the BudBuilt and it required a bit of tweaking but came out pretty good. I went with a Warn ZEON 10-S and Factor 55 fairlead and Prolink.

The fogs are the LED Toyota DRL/fogs and if you mean the halos, those are also set up as DRLs. The headlights are bi-xenon from Kustom54 and I love them. My BMW has adaptive bi-xenons and I was shocked at how poor the factory lights were on the 4Runner by comparison so it was the first thing I changed. I can never use halogens again...

Did you write this up, or is it a pretty straightforward install? I like that it doesn't cut the bumper, but did it take removal of any of the bumper lining as well?

Are those recovery points part of the winch mount? I don't see them in the pics on Bud's website.

Yes they are and Bud told me that was the 'old version' pictured on his site. If you order from them, make sure you check your invoice prior to them shipping and make sure they have the correct year and model.

Looks like a great way to add front recovery points to a Limited, even if I don't get a winch for a while. The only other option I've seen (Treaty Oak) puts them really low.

Yeah, obviously it requires some cutting of the front bumper but it wasn't as bad as expected. It maintains a relatively factory look but provides more functionality.

Budbuilt Hidden Winch for 2010-2013?

I am 2 months in owning my first 4Runner and I am having a blast so far! I was excited to discover this BudBuilt hidden wench mount until I read the fine print, it excludes all limiteds of any year. The front bumpers and frame should be almost identical. The lower grill openings looks like it is located in the same area for all models. The difference I see is that the Limited has a lower hanging bumper with chrome trim which shouldn't effect the placement of this bracket. I think it should clear through the bottom grill opening, can anyway tell me why it wouldn't work?

Hidden Winch Mount

Hi,

I'm new here and I've been looking for a winch mount for my 2020 Limited. I talked to a rep from BudBuilt and he assured me that they are putting the finishing touches on a new product listing for a hidden winch mount for the 2020 (at least) Limited. He said the listing would be on their site very soon, they are just finalizing pics. You can also call them to confirm, of course, here is the link to their site:

I'm so looking forward to them making a mount for the Limited!

I have said winch mount for the Limited...sadly haven't gotten to installing it. Received it a few weeks ago as part of the first batch I believe. If I didn't have a mulch delivery coming today, I would get started.

BudBuilt's quality is fantastic. I will be reporting back and likely doing a article on the install.

I have done a quite a bit of investigation and it appears that Bud's may be the only mount that will work without major cutting or a new bumper.

Good news, finished my BudBuilt Hidden Winch Mount on my 2016 Limited with a Smittybilt Gen2 X2O COMP 10000 Waterproof Winch 98510 with stock bumper. I will post a new thread in the next few days...check my profile for the latest thread.
