New Wheels extra $$ for TPMS transfer

For those of you who purchased new wheels and wanted to have the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors (TPMS) transferred over from your OEM wheels did you have to pay more than the typical tire installation charge?

Typically mounting and balancing includes dismounting and disposal of the old tires so I don't think there should be an additional costs for that. However, it is a little more work having to deal with two sets of wheels.

well its usually included in the tire swap, or they don't itemize the charges.

Doesn't hurt to ask if its included.

I never ask and they always change it over when I pay for a tire swap.
 
there are parts they replace when they swap tpms usually. TPMS Service Kits.. replacing rubber seals and all.
 
I had new wheels and rubber done at the same time. It was no extra fee for it.

When you drop that much $$ at one time, they better do that kind of meaningless stuff for free.
 
Just did wheels and tires on Friday at Discount Tire. They moved the TPMS over and did the service kit for free.
