17" is the most used rim size in professional off road sports

Yes but were comparing apples to oranges when concerning stock or mildly lifted Runners since those pro vehicles can have the lift to accomodate monster tires on those 17" rims. 4Runners are limited by the amount of lift when talking how much rubber is around the rim.

Ive been hunting on ebay for a while now.

Heres a teaser pic. IMO its the best looking oem toyota truck rim.

My choice was bettween these and aftermarket. But im very pleased with my final decision.

After extensive research I think the Tundra/Sequoia Split 5 wheels in Hyper Silver look best on the 3rd Gen. The Silver & Charcoal look nice too but the Hyper Silver has a deep almost black chrome look to it but it's not as dark as the Charcoal. I've seen people paint them Black & Gunmetal & they look ok, but not Hyper Silver caliber.

I like the stock 5 stars better than I used to. I used to hate them & thought they were too plain for a Limited & looked like steel rims & the shiny Split 3's were much classier looking.

Agree with you they look the best, but they are so freaking hard to find.

This is all I found, nothing on CL or junkyard worth buying:

Set of 4, ALY69440U20 Toyota Tundra, Sequoia Silver Painted Wheels

know of anywhere better?

E-Bay is the place to pick-them up. Prices have come down since 2014.
I couldn't find a really nice set for a good price. The cheap ones were beat up & the mint or refurbished ones were ridiculously priced. I decided to buy them one at a time when a mint one showed up & I have one Hyper Silver from E-Bay in mint condition. Before I finished collecting them all I fell in love with the 2014 T4R Trail wheels & sets were abundant as new take-offs. I picked up a set for $400 & never looked back. If you want my one Hyper Silver I'll let it go for $145 + $20 UPS ground shipping.

Maybe you could find 4 beat up ones off CL & get them blasted & powder coated the color of your choice. A lot of these on e-bay don't have center caps. Post a WTB in the classifieds, I bet people have a set in their garage somewhere....

FACTORY OEM WHEEL 17X7-1/2 ALLOY PAINTED FITS 03-07 TOYOTA SEQUOIA 294039 | eBay

While I did find 4 in junkyards locally, they were like $80 each in *bad* condition.. so $320 without the cost of powdercoating the 4....

Without even searching for it, I was browsing through random pages at TacomaWorld and found a local set of Tacoma TRD wheels that are too cheap to refuse. $200 for all 4 including center caps and lug nuts and they only have minor scratches on them that I hope I can repair...

Maybe the Sequoia/Tundra rims are in my future one day, but for now i'll be rocking these -- this makes more sense for me atm too because i have like 50-60% tread left on my tires whereas the sequoia/tundra wheel I have to switch tires since they are 17'' wheels and I still rock the 16" OEM.

What color is this?

I found a (4) pack of these with lugs and center caps.
No doubt my favorite wheels.
Not sure of the color code. Is this Sparkle Silver?

Though they both look great.

I would venture to say the 5 stars look tougher, more rugged or muscular.

The Tundra rims, though very nice, seem like they could be on a sedan or sports coupe. Likely due to the curves on the Tundra vs the straighter lines of the 5 stars. :vader: just an opinion lol

Forgive the resurrection but trying to find anyone running the Sequoia wheels on a 4th Gen Sport Edition with the larger front rotors. Need to know they’ll fit before buying a set. TIA.

Looking for the same thing.

They'll fit, the 17"s are the same size as the Sport wheels (17x7.5) but the offset is slightly better as well (+15 on the Sequoia wheel as opposed to +30 on the stock Sport wheels).
