Sticky trunk latch

Hey guys! I just joined this forum, so I’m not sure if I’m posting this in the right spot. Anyway, I just bought a 98 and my trunk latch or the lever to open the trunk, is really hard to actuate. I have to use both hands most of the time. Anyone know of any good fixes for this? Thanks!

Have you done a Google search on this subject. I bet there's a related thread on this subject that might help you out. But, have you simply tried spraying a lubricant into the mechanism to see if that helps? Try spraying some WD40 in there.
 
Hey everyone. I’m about to change my timing belt out on my 97. Wondering how necessary it is to replace the crank pulley bolt? I feel like if it’s still in tact then why replace it? Thanks to anyone who can shed some light.

Toyota recommends replacing it everytime due to the extreme torque on the bolt. But I've reused mine without any issues twice. It's a ten dollar part so if you can, just replace it for peace of mind.

Rot hole found in frame

While taking off the running boards today I found a small rot hole in my frame. The image isn't the best but it is roughly where the arrow is pointing. Should I try to get the frame welded or call it quits and junk it.

Depends on the condition of the rest of the frame. I suggest taking a hammer and checking the rest of your frame before deciding. If the rest of it is in okay condition then I would repair the frame.

loosing power going up hills

H i guys, relatively new to the forum, but have an interesting problem. My 01 sr5, while drive on level roads, runs fine, but while on hills looses power about halfway up hill like someone shut off the fuel. Now heres the interesting part...if i floor it, she downshifts, and climbs the hill like a scared rabbit around 70mph, and screaming around 5000rpm...any ideas would be great

It could be related to fuel, timing, maf' o2 sensors, transmission etc.
