I bought this 2001 4runner with 133xxx miles about 2 months ago the frame is super clean only has some surface rust but the other day I was doing some deep cleaning and discovered this mess. What should I do? Do I repair it? Can it even be repaired? Is it worth repairing? Really wish I saw this before purchasing.
This is a fantastic thread and an awesome resource. Thanks for putting it together!

I just got done doing my valve cover gaskets (they were awful) and adjusting valve shims. Thanks for your videos. They made it way easier than it could have been.
I did wrap the wire harness protector in tape like you mentioned, but it was so brittle after 27 years in the desert that it just crumbled anyways. I used this thread and wrapped the harness in silicone rescue tape, wire loom, and then metal brackets to hold it in place.
I've done headgaskets on old 60's jeeps, fairly straightforward. I'm glad you're doing a video for it, but an at least 5 parter makes me thing it's way more complicated than a 60 year old 4 cylinder!
