Well, they DO match the Toyota wiring diagram I posted. You actually have the unmitigated gall to first consult stinkin' Haynes rather than the wisdom of a random poster on the internet?

@huyroy , ok I believe you. doesn't seem like a fuse issue. I want to clarify a few things because I get easily distracted.

1. You are absolutely positive you have no continuity to ground at terminal 3 of the RH(passenger) headlight connector with the headlights on AND off.

2. If that is true, you shouldn't have ANY lights at all, so can you recheck with highbeams on/off and with all off(engine running park brake off).

3. Just to confirm, highs work on RH, not on left.

4. Check ground circuit on LH side as well, in low/high and off.

5. If any of the ground conditions are not correct. I'd like you to check continuity from the headlight connectors to the DRL relay#4, T2. This is located on the right side of the dash. Let me know if you need the location diagram.

Write your findings down and then post, if @TheDurk is done traveling, we can get this solved quickly.

This is the EXACT problem I am having. Did anyone figure this out? Both headlights are super dim and brownish. If it turn on the high beams only the passenger light comes on and it appears to be full strength. I have ohm'd out all of the fuses and they are good.

Thank you very much! I have printed out the diagram.

Took the switch apart, cleaned out dirty dilectric grease, no change. Replaced ground wire from battery to fender cowl no change. Battery power and power at bulb is the same however ground terminal on drivers side bulb shows 7 volts. When i hit the high beams all terminals on drivers bulb show 14 volts.

Do you have daytime running lights or not?

Yes I do but they have been disabled for quite some time. I re-enabled them but the problem persists.

How are the relays? are they functioning properly?

What kind of Bulbs are in your headlights? Standard or LED?

I would very and trace the wires are good and not shorting using the wire diagram.

I would also very your headlight relays are good and functioning properly as there isnt a lot to the headlight circuits.

The headlight and dimmer relays would need tested.

Tested the relays and they seem good, 70 ohms resistance.

I just bought brand new halogen bulbs on a whim today and have progress. Passenger headlight functions as it should, low beam is bright and high beam is bright. Drivers side still brown on low beam and when you switch to high beam it turns off. Also im showing 7 volts on the ground terminal when low beams are on. I have power on both sides of the low beam fuses.

FIXED! The ground wire on the drivers side had no continuity. I attached an alligator clip to the ground tab of the bulb and gently slid the connector on as best as it could fit and ran the other alligator clip to the negative terminal. All lights function like normal. High beams, everything.

I didn't want to tear my harness apart so I took the plug apart and removed the ground wire. I slipped in a new ground wire with locking spade connector that I robbed from another harness from Amazon and ran that ground to the drivers fender cowl ground. Works great!!

Good deal you lost a ground wire and got it repaired. Wires can occasionally do that. Mostly its the relays. I figured it was a wire or relay not functioning but by the looks of that circuit with the Day time running lights, does complicate that circuit some.

As these rigs age, these kinds of things happen.. :-)

Yes sir! And thank you for sending me those wiring diagrams with the theory of operation. I studied those for hours in my down time. It brought me back to my days in the USAF troubleshooting faults in equipment...I miss that! Was nice to get back to tracing faults!
