Project Stormtrooper (01 SC build)

I have been searching for another 4runner for some months now. I got lucky and someone on the fourm posted this up. I contacted the seller on a Thursday and I was told they already had close to 40 emails. I went up Friday to look at it and left a deposit. Brought it home Saturday.

I am excited to get to work on this 4runner. It will be a pretty quick build up. I will be switching parts from my current 4runner to this one and I will sell my 99. CBI bumper, lift, wheels and tires, and tundra brakes. Plus more.

It is a 2 owner. The girl i bought it from has owned it for the past 10 years. Her parents bought it from there neighbor. It is from California so there is zero rust on this thing. Clean carfax with zero accidents.

I called it project stormtrooper because the silver cladding will be getting painted black. It will have black wheels as well.

How its sits now as of 14 Jan 2018

Did you get it for the SC or is something wrong with your other one? Or just wanted a new build to play with?

Wanted it for the SC and a new build to play with. This one has 25k less miles than my other 4runner. It will be up for sale very soon. I am trying to sell my Audi so this build can really take off.

Would like to get another car so my 4Runner is more for just camping and exploring.... I'm been dreaming about an Audi S6 (though I honestly don't know much about them). Would like to find one in the '07 to '09 range. So maybe in a year or so when I'm really ready I'll sit down and research them more. The V10 looks amazing, but also a nightmare to service.... LOL

Any audi or european luxury car in general is gonna be a pain to service IMO. Can't beat the 5VZ in terms of ease of service.

Nice new truck to by the way OP, you got a great deal.

Yeah, I realize that.... My first option was a Cadillac CTS-V in around the 2009 range. But I'm just not a huge fan for American autos (in general). Maybe a Lexus, but I would have to see what catches my eye.

new 4runner

My buddy has an 09 CTS-V. Very nice car and STUPID fast but he just spent 2 months waiting for a new rear end as his blew on the way to Tampa. The wife and I have a 08 Bimmer and any thing other than general maintenance is not doable at home. On a side not I would close that garage door tonight. Your old 4runner looks like it has bad intentions in mind for the newproject.

Picked up a new supercharger belt from Toyota for $10. One of my bulbs for the HVAC was out so i picked up a new bulb for that also.

Put on my airaid intake tube and put in my K&N air filter.

Not sure of the exact power numbers. I can tell a big difference between this one and my 99. My 99 has 285's on it so we will see how the SC handles it when I swap the tires over.

Please let me know if the issue is fixed. I was deleting some doubles out of my photo bucket and I reposted the image links.
