AC blower turns on at "ON" key position?
2000 4Runner Limited
Just a while ago, when i turned the key to "ON", the ac blower turned on (low speed) but the AC controller was in off. when i cranked the engine, the blower kept running. I pushed the AC off switch but the blower won't turn off. I switched off the engine and tried again, the blower turned on with the key still in the "ON" position. repeated the process an third time with the same result.
It just happened today. Earlier, I sprayed Lysol in the cargo, rear passenger and front, including the blower area. before spraying, I turned on the engine then the AC. The blower turned on only when I pressed the AUTO button.
What are your thoughts on this?

Sounds as you got Lysol where it shouldn't be, give it couple days see what happens might dry out.

Is it the digital climate control?, they can do weird things, I had to send one out last year for cleaning, as it would be stuck on AC cold, cold weather made it act up even more.

I should elaborate, it was stuck on AC cold fans high every morning in cold weather ironically when you first started it, the fan dial was sketchy and jumpy but would dial down/turn off, AC could be turned off, and after it warmed up temp dial would become responsive, which sucks in -30 we get. This wasn't my vehicle, it was filthy behind the dash, dust everywhere where as mine looks like new under the dash and I'm still in the original Climate control FWIW.

Problem solved.
just found out that it was the rear heater blower that was running.
When I sprayed Lysol yesterday, I also turned on the rear heater & blower to max heat and high speed. But i forgot to turn it off.
about 10 mins into driving today, it felt warm, i then remembered that i forgot to switch off the rear heater/blower. After switching off the rear heater/blower, i switched off the ac and found out that the ac blower was also off

Thanks guys!
