Anyone with pics of ARB (or others) front bumpers?

Here's the deal. I want to body lift my truck. Butttt, I have a Westin Grille Guard that I love but I'm gonna lose it in the process =/

So anyone who's got an ARB or similar front bumper replacement, let's see those pics!

i'll give you one picture but please search, between here and yotatech you'll find plenty of pictures and 100 of the same exact threads.

since it seems to be relevant this is with a 2" body lift and fabbed brackets

MillerPKA- did you fab up the brackets yourself? I really wanna get my bumper up to the height of the rest of the body, it bothers me every time i look at it.
 
Quick Question, since it's a Tacoma bumper Technically, I heard you need to cut off the 4Runner OE Bumper mounts Correct?

Also, do you guys weld your bumpers on? Or do you bolt them on?

you do have to cut the frame end caps off...

i have mine both welded and bolted on
 
Bolted and welded here too. The flanges aren't necessary, trust me you won't miss them.

And snow, we used a plasma cutter, drill and an in house welder, took about 1.5 hours taking our time. Went by this image thanks to Roger Brown

I still think the lines/hoops of the TJM T-15 fit the runner a bit better but you will be very happy with either. I might just be partial b/c thats what I had first but with TJM not importing bumpers anymore, it makes the decision a bit easier. :( Since your going to be running a body lift check out the "lattice" mod I did to my white truck to cover up/lessen the gap created by the body lift.

turboale, you got the prado ARB, which i dont believe fits as well as the taco ARB, my ARB comes almost flush with my limited flares, and looks like it belongs.
 
eh....i really don't like the look of these bumpers...

they make the truck look older, and i guess more rugged, but i like the 'Clean-yet-Functional' look. I am really in love with my westin grille guard on my truck, it works and I love the look.

Has anybody heard of or done themselves some fabbed brackets to keep a grille guard with a body lift?

i have to disagree with you on this one, i think my truck looks clean yet functional and have been told the same by many people, however it depends on the crowd... the local highschool chicks might disagree with me
 
Yeah i know alot of guys are gonna disagree with me...I can't really explain it, I mean I'm really on the fence about it. Sometimes I'll look at it and love it, and then sometimes I hate it...It's really all about personal taste.


My girl's dad owns a machine shop, think I can get some brakets fabbed up for my westin?
 
yeah... im sure anyone with a machine shop could fab up some brackets...

just wait until you hit your first thing bigger than a bag full of leaves and you have to replace both fenders, headlights, and hood from that "damage multiplier" and then you will come to the dark side.

I would never recommend installing one of these bumpers for looks. They are heavy and ALL function.

I got mine for offroad recovery, holding a winch, and approach clearance. Sure, if I whack a deer it will help too, but the three above mentioned functionalities are employed at least once a month or more...can't say that for deer or attracting chicks, lol!

I would not recommend these bumpers for any desire other than pure function, and for that function the "looks" can be sacrificed.

however...I LOVE THE WAY THEY LOOK!!! YEH-HAW!

It really sounds like modified brackets would be the way to go for you. :)
 
yeah that's what I'm saying, those bumpers are all business

and I don't really hit alot of things that would require a bumper, nor do I plan on needing the crazy approach angle or getting deep enough to need a winch...so fab brackets it is....I'll post pics when it's done!
 
I think the Shockworks looks the best. The others are kind of bulky in my opinion. I also think 4runners look better when both bumpers are aftermarket.
