1985 Ford Bronco,sitting forever and a chance to sell?

Just thought I would ask here for the fun of it. I own an 85 Ford Fullsize Bronco. 351V8, Rebuilt C6 auto with maybe 20K tops on it. Truck needs carb adjusted but runs good when started. Paint is horrid, and roof and hood etc. are oxidized, rust around fenders, and tailgate. Manual hubs have gone out, and will need replaced for 4x4 to work. Truck has been sitting here taking up space for 5 years, and I have never tried to sell on the basis it was my first car when I was 15. I have owned it since then, and it only has 100K orig. miles on it. Truck is rough, but tires are good and interior is ok for an 85 truck. I have a nephew who has offered me $300 bucks for it, and I could move it out of here. I don't wanna be a tight ass, but still think this is too low considering some carb adjustments, and a hub kit and you have a running fullsize truck with 4x4. Albeit, it would take some new panels, or a lot of bondo and a paint job to look decent imo. I guess the fact I've had it for so long plays into it, but you can barely get a bicycle for $300 bucks. :) Whatya think guys. Let it go, and collect $300. Or fix hubs myself and hope to get 8 or 900 from it elsewhere.

Whats better, $300 or $0 and another 5 years of an incredibly ugly lawn ornament that just gets more worthless as time passes?
 
$300 to make your 4runner happy. IE roof rack, led tails, side window visors, any one want to help spend $300 on his 4runner mods? Next year the offer may only be $150 and beside your nephew will love and resurrect the thing put it back in the mud :driving:

I have a hard time even comprehending the value of trying to get a couple hundred dollars more out of it when your own nephew has asked for it. Don't you want him if not SOMEONE to feel the same kind of love for it that you once did? Wouldn't it be a fun project for you to help him with and teach him a few things? What is the value of that to you??
 
Well I guess I'll be letting it go :) Really not sure how long my nephew even plans to keep her for. IMO, he will probably not end up fixing the truck up and probably show it a very rough last go around between the mud and the trails, and being 17 and in high school :) That or fix it up some and resell himself. I know a long time ago I did the same (trails, etc.) to an extent, but always took care of it and kept it up in maintenance, etc.. Either way, no more eyesore and here's to the memories, haha.
 
Don't screw your nephew over with a leaky ford, wait till metal prices recover and try to bring it to a scrapyard.
 
At 17, and for $300 he could drive it for 6 months and have enough fun in it to cover the cost. A small oil leak will be the least of his worries, and brand loyalty won't be a subject that comes up too often I'm sure. :)
 
F it were my nephew, I'd likely give it to him for free then give him a few hundred $$s to get it going. Here's nothing more satisfying then giving to loved ones. I just bought my mom an awd rav4 thus weekend. I'm kinda broke now and that delays my new sportscar plans by a few months possibly, but hey, I made mom happy. That's worth more then any of the 50 some odd cars I've owned in my life.
