What additional parts, if any, are needed when replacing shocks and springs?

Hey all.

I just received my Tokico Treckmaster shocks and '99 coils for my '97 SR5.

When you guys have replaced your shocks and springs, did you all buy any new hardware or recomend anything? Top plates, bushings, etc...?

My '97 has 182,000 miles on it and is rust free, if that makes any difference.

I replaced my shocks at 66k miles so I didn't really need to replace anything. I probably should have swapped out the bushings for some poly ones though. Rust is the main reason to replace parts but I would recommend getting new nuts and bushings at the least because of the age and mileage
 
When I replaced them on my Wife's 97, I did not replace anything. Her truck is also rust free @ 150K-ish miles. It wasn't even hard to remove the rear shocks.
The new shocks came with new top nuts, so that wasn't an issue.
The rubber bushings were fine.

You will have to take a look for yourself. If the rubber is still .... rubbery, then I would say to leave them alone.
Please do not take that as an endorsement. I assume NO liability if your truck comes apart. * typical legal disclamer garbage...
