Who makes the best performing rear shock for lifted suspensions and a somewhat reasonable cost?

When using LC coils in the rear, can I use stock OEM land cruiser shocks or will they not perform well?

Yes, you can use them and they'll be just fine. The coils we use on the rear come from the front of a FJZ80 Landcruiser, but you must use the rear shocks from an FJZ80 on the rear of the 3rd gen 4Runner.

Adjusting Coilovers
I've had my Toytec Ultimate on for about a hundred miles. I'm thinking the shop that did the install, slapped on the Coilovers at max height. Well the front is about an inch higher than in the back, if I adjust the coilover by an inch, that should level my rig, correct? Also, will that improve ride quality? seems a little stiff>

Compressing the front coils to assemble the struts is the dangerous part. Many people have the vendor they purchased them from pre-assemble them or they bring them to a local shop and pay ~$40-50 to have them assembled. If you choose to assemble the fronts yourself, you can buy or rent spring compressors to do it, but it is dangerous because if the compressor breaks, the whole thing will come apart at about 300 mph. I recommend not doing that part yourself. I did on my 1st lift and it was sketchy.
The rest of the lift is no more dangerous to do than any other mechanical work with the truck on jacks/jacks stands and only basic tools are required. GL.

When I did my front struts I rented a spring compressor from autzone, and it was sketchy as hell! The safety pins did not fit around the bar, but I used it anyways. (I know...I know, no safety lectures please) I did put on an old football helmet though just in case!
When I get my new lift springs I will have the vender assemble it for me! I will NOT be doing that again with a rented spring compressor

I agree with having the vendor pre-assemble the coil/strut assembly or just take it to the shop and have them do it. You just never know how well used the rented one's are or when it's integrity will be compromised..Safety first...as in everything!
But that would've been funny to see you wear that football helmet while compressing the springs...

So if I were to order the ultimate lift from Toytec, just ask them to assemble them? Why wouldn't they normally come assembled? Thanks, totally newb when it comes to this...

because the fronts don't normally come with new top plates and hardware. Toytec for $100 gives you new everything and assembles them as well. Good deal IMO
