Stock front and rear bumpers made custom

Hi all, It's been awhile since I've posted anything. Work is crazy!!
Anyway I've been contemplating buying front and rear bumpers and a set sliders for some time now. Can't justify the money being shelled out for the offroad "look" so to speak. I have sliders ordered from Savage Offroad but I'm making my own offroad bumpers out of my stock ones.

Both will be line-x the same color as my limited flares. On the rear I'm going to recess some led reverse lights in and also a back up camera.

The front will have the blinkers moved up into the side markers. It will all be done with led's I will get some pics up as the process evolves. The now vacant blinker holes will house Hella 75ff fog lamps with custom 3000k hid kits installed. There will also be a set of Hella 500ff driving lamps with 50w 5000k hid kit installed up on top. The lower plastic valance will be removed and I will build a 1/8" steel plate from the top of the factory skid to the bottom of the bumper.

It will be a fun little project and I will post updates. Could take a couple weeks to get finished you know sturgis rally is just around the corner. Priorities you know. haha

Some of the new goodies showed up today. Front and rear cameras, backup led lights and the clear corners that I will make into blinkers with the led's I ordered. I might get a start on it tomorrow depending on the weather.

Well I had a little progress tonight. I got the Led reverse lights cut in and also the back-up camera. Still debating where the flush mount 4pin trailer connector will go. I think the light will be plenty bright for reverse lights.

My new clear corners didn't stay new for long. Drilled a couple holes in the back for yellow led's. They will be hooked up as the marker lights. I ordered 4 for each side but used only two. They were plenty bright. Can always add some. I held them in with one minute epoxy. Work Fast!!!!! They 194 light will now be the blinker. I got 45 lumen 5 smd led's in yellow for the blinkers! They will definitely do the job.

Oh and don't worry about the chrome. It will be truck bed coated and painted the same color as the flares and rockers. Finally no more bling left

Just an update. I've got all the bumpers primed and painted. It's been so humid around here that the paint is taking 4ever to cure. My grille has been replaced. The clear corners with the blinker mod are installed.

Even better news. Doug from savage offroad shipped my sliders today!!

Got the bumpers mounted and the hella fogs are temporarily in.

Have to get all the goodies wired up this weekend. I have a DPDT switch that will mount in the center console so I can switch between the front and rear cameras. It will also control the reverse lights that are mounted in the rear bumper. I put a flush mount 4 pin trailer connector in also to get rid of the annoying trailer wires hanging down.

I have to buy a set of hella 500ff driving lights for the front too.

I put my new grille in with the emblem painted the same color as the trim and felt like using a leftover badge from the back hatch too.

I'll get some more pics up when everything is wired up and functioning.

Under the front bumper off the frame I have a buddy fabbing me up some shackle mounts and 2" receiver w small skid up to the bottom of the bumper.

All in all the 50 bucks worth of paint has really transformed the Runner.

Can't post pics. Sorry but it says too big. But they are all off the same camera. A little technical help would be appreciated. haha Thanks
 
what kind of LED reverse lights are those? im lookin for something similar? they look pretty bright . . . how are they in 1st person @ night?
 
Are you going to remount the lower section of the front bumper? I realize its only plastic but it seems it would help protect the lower section of your condensor and radiator. Without it seems very exposed.
 
Yep front and rear cameras. More a novelty than anything. Going to have a switch in the console to toggle between the two. Going up hills when you can only see the top of the dash you can flip the front cam on and watch whats going on. i have 7" touchscreen indash dvd player that has cam inputs.

The lights are fairly bright. not like 55w fog but for reversing up to trailers and such they will work great. $16 ebay specials. haha.

I'll get some pics up of everything working. Going to work on the wiring tonight and tomorrow.
 
I'll be putting a skid plate with shackle mounts and a 2" receiver between the frame. The skid will go from the bottom of the factory bumper to the lower part of the new shackle/receiver assembly. Just gathering some steel for the project.
