In case you were wondering... 5th gen (SR5) rims on a 4th gen...

Hi folks,

Just wanted to say thanks and give back a little bit. The information on here, as usual, was spot on. 5th Gen rims do indeed fit on our 4th Gens, and they look great. I got all the info I needed on here, but had trouble finding ANY pics of 5th gen rims on a 4th gen, so I wanted to share a few photos. Also a big shout out to T4R member ZEROWKUL98 for sharing the craigslist post with me regarding the 5th gen rims for sale up here in Massachusetts.

I put Nitto Terra Grappler tires (265/70/17) on the rims. These are cell phone pics, so not the greatest, but the only camera I had with me on the day I got the car cleaned up so they'll have to suffice. The tires stick out a little further with the new rims (different offset) which I really like. They're still not quite out as far as I'd like, so I'm going to look into the wheel spacers, but it's still a noticeable difference. I'll try to post a pick showing that later. I also want to put some kind of lift on, but that's a project for later this year. So far it looks pretty good for 8 years old and 104k miles!

What do you guys and gals think?

That looks wicked good! Glad you were able to procure the set! The tires really put thefinishing touches on perfectly! With a lift, that rig'll look amazing!

104k and 8 years old?!? I would never have guessed that! You take good care of your vehicles, bro!

Yeah those do look really good, we'll probably see more and more of those being sold online as the 5th gen guys start swapping wheels and tires out.

I have to admit, I was a tad nervous because I also thought they just looked "so-so" on the 5th gens. But they definitely look great on the 4th gen. I have a 5th gen that parks next to me at work, and they don't look nearly as good on his ride (he also has Dunlops on there too, which doesn't help). But I agree, they look better on the 4th gen!

By the way, I forgot to mention it in my initial post... I replaced all 5 tire pressure sensors with the newer model (PMV-107J I believe) and they work beautifully. Got a really nice full set of 5 on eBay for $120. Just wanted to let people know in case they were thinking of doing the same thing. Some websites tell you they are "incompatible" with the 2003/2004 T4R. They're not - they work perfectly.

What's the offset on these compared to the regular stock rims? Is there any difference?

Planning on going with the same combination myself...

Does anyone know if the old tpms sensors will work with the new wheels? Or do you HAVE to invest in the newer style PMV-107J sensors?

I'd like to avoid the extra cost if possible...

They do look good....Do they have a -15 off set as do the FJ's?

Also as Peroxice asked do you use the old sensors or the new ones?

5th gen wheels on a 4th gen actually look better than they do on the 5th gen.

That blue is my favorite color on these. Nice clean truck! The rims look great, too.
