Dreaded head gasket leak
A few days ago all of these lights came on at the same time. I was hopeful it was something simple or at least cheap, such as a new sensor. Codes being read for the light are P0306 and C1201. Haven't confirmed it is a head gasket leak yet, but it isn't overheating or driving rough so I'm staying hopeful. Appreciate the information on this, I've only had my 4Runner for around a month and I was unsure what VSC and VSC Trac actually meant.

So I've had the check engine light, the VSC OFF and the VSC TRAC lights on for a week or two now. I took it to an autoparts store and it pulled the code p0430 which it says is the catalyst efficiency below normal in bank 2. What can I do to fix this problem? is it worth taking to a dealer?

Amazon Denso, knockoffs or just bad luck?
I have an 03, v6. I’ve purchased 3 O2 sensors from Amazon. 2x 234-4805 purchased in 2016 and again in 2017, and 1x 234-4804 purchased in 2016. I am now with yet another 4805 sensor code. This will be the third amazon purchased denso 4805. Anyone else have this issue with amazon sensors?

Thought it was the gas cap...
I have a 2006 4Runner SR5 V-6. I have the CEL, VSC TRAC and Traction control lights on. Last time this happened, it was the gas cap. Even though the gas cap was not tightening properly, it isn't the issue as I have replaced the gas cap and have driven it about 1000 miles and the lights haven't gone out.
The codes that are being reported are P0441, P0455 and C1201. Anybody have a clue? I've got an appointment with the dealer for this Friday, but if it's something I can fix myself, I'd rather. Thanks!

Toyota Part No.: 84340-69025
SWITCH ASSY, STOP LAMP
Solved a similar issue for me, but my lights would go off once in a while.

Trail edition 5th gen
My 4WD indicator light and crawl control feature lights constantly stay blinking of and on of and on, also, am not able to use crawl control features such as locking rear diff, multi terrain, etc.. . Unplug battery, reconnect, still there. ABS wires replaced, still there, performed yaw control 0 point calibration, still there. Any ideas on what to do next?

Mike, this is the 4th Gen forum and you have a 5th Gen, you may have better luck with your issue if you post in the 5th Gen forum.
That being said I would go to your local auto parts store and see if they can use their OBD 2 code reader to see what trouble codes you have to start fidning out what the issue is with your light being on.

On my 2006 I had VSC and TRAC lights but no check engine. Turned out to be my ODBII itself. I was using a Bluetooth plug-in and torque pro to log while driving. Apparently the computer didn't like that, but after I unplugged it the lights went out and haven't come back on.

I see, honestly don’t think so, every one on fifth gens finds their solution through the above methods I’ve tried. Also, I have different lights on then them so it’s leading me to believe it’s an entirely separate issue. Just those 2 green flashing lights. (Crawl control/multi terrain) + (4WD icon) with no codes being thrown at the local auto store

Thanks to BlackWorksInc for this outstanding writeup, which enabled me to quickly diagnose and remedy my issue. I was lucky, I hadn't quite gotten the gas cap tightened up after adding some fuel treatment. Cleared the code and checked over 5 hours later, good to go.
Greatly appreciate all the people who contribute knowledge, experience, and wisdom to the forum.

Wanna take shot at my DTCs? O’Reilly’s scanned C1201 & P0456 yesterday. Is it the gas cap?

I read more of this thread to learn what of “loose” (or tired) gas cap gaskets... ...and it seem exhausted! So we’re off to O’Reilly’s tonight. I still welcome any ideas from the more experienced members
Thanks for an awesome info base. Tony
