My turn for some 5th Gen wheels ony 4th Gen

Picked these up from a buddy who got some Trail wheels for his T4R. He let me have them in exchange for a full detail on his rig. I'll take it!

Getting em mounted this weekend

Going on this:

Why would you put those 5th gen wheels on a truck that already has the best looking OEM wheels already on it?

Maybe he does...

but he didn't get them for free. A full detail on his buddies truck is not easy work.

Nevertheless, by the time you have them mounted, balanced, TPMS swapped, etc. you've got another $100 into it. Plus your time... And I',m saying all this because I do in fact like the Sport 4th gen wheels a lot. If he had SR5 wheels, I can see doing the swap. He's got a nice looking rig as it sits now.

Because mine are starting to look pretty bad. I bought the truck used, it's originally a Maryland truck and the wheels are starting to lose clearcoat, getting down to the cast aluminum in places. This deal came up with a good friend of mine and instead of exchanging cash, I offered to wash, buff, and wax his truck and he said sure. Yeah it's hard work, but something I enjoy.

I also have another buddy that works for a tire shop that will put them on for free after hours, so no cost out of my pocket.

These are actually pretty sharp wheels and the color is awesome. Worst case scenario, I don't like them on itx it gives me a chance to have mine blasted and repainted and still have a spare set of wheels for winter

I know I didn't load up my original reply with emoji's indicating some humor... But seriously.. I know why he is putting on the new wheels.. Because he obviously likes them. It was more of an offhand remark and opinion. He obviously posted the pic of the wheels cause he wanted opinions or pat on the back. I gave him an opinion. Lol

i think those new wheels are very nice...i have a 4th gen sport and think the factory wheels were pretty sharp- they have traditional 4runner look with a bit of a mag wheel thrown in...imho i think after years of looking at the same wheel, we get an itch for a new twist- if those sport wheels just came out for the T4r's, they would be the hot ticket

ive been looking a lot at the TRD wheels, fjc wheels and 5th gen wheels- they are several that i really like- lets face it, toyota makes some badass wheels- i dont even feel the need to go aftermarket

You would be correct, no skin off my back. Just wanted to share my next mod (albeit a factory wheel mod lol)

Got to cleaning them front and back this evening with my son. Then put a good coat of wax on. Going on this weekend.

I'd wash and wax a truck for a set of rims too. I think they are going to look good on your truck. And with that, let me know if you want to sell your stockers, I'm in NC too.

They do look nice. Good to have a helper too!

I have two girls so I'm fighting an uphill battle to get help in the garage...

Annnnnddd, finally got time to have them mounted. I must say they look fantastic, especially with the spacers. I am stoked.

That looks awesome. I love the oem+ look. I'm a fan of your factory wheels but these wheels look even better, AND they look like original equipment
