Removal of plastic fender body panels.

Anyone know how easy/difficult it is?

I want to have someone paint it and would just like to drop the body peice off and tell them to match it.

It's a galactic grey 2k4 model.

I hope they can match it perfect :)

to get it perfect, they would need the truck. because there is alot of blending to be done. trust me its not as easy as you may think. and might cost a good freaking amount too.
 
It need's to be blended , he is correct.

Unless you having the panels painted a different color than your primary color.
 
Speaking from considerable experience...

They can get the paint right on using the VIN/OEM paint code. The only kick would be what they are shooting it over. If your panels just need a new shoot due to dings/oxidation, no problem. If you're wanting a whole new color, they'll need to know more, like what primer was used or what the previous paint color was.

I'm hoping MulePick is correct. It is much more convenient to drop a little panel off and not have to make other transportation arrangements (obviously).

There are 3 very fine (but somewhat long) scratches on it that bug me.

I just made an offer on a stripped down tundra and will either sell the runner or give it to my mom (she loves it). The truck doesn't have a ding on it and the paint is in great shape. The scratches are the only thing keeping it from being "like new".

So, has anyone removed one of those panels? Looke pretty easy at first glance.
