Are we totally sure that 5th Gen 17" wheels are perfectly compatible with 4th Gen?

No problem mounting 2018 wheels on the 4th Gen T4R, right?

Specifically, I'm wondering about the practical implications of the difference in OFFSET between the two generations of wheels.

Yeah man, theres hundreds of threads here that show 5th gen wheels are good, to include 1 about 4 or 5 threads down, currently. Any type will fit your ride. Where you'll run into issues is the tires. They're a little bit bigger, so if you're stock suspension, you might get some rubbing on full lock turns

I have 2016 Trail wheels on my 03 and they're great. They have more offset than the 4th gen wheels, but not as much as Icon recommends with their coilovers. With 285/70/17s I rub the frame at full lock.

I believe it's 30mm vs. 15mm.

they fit perfectly.. they are hub centric as well to factory fit. the offset may actually be beneficial. only marginally, tire choice will be more of an impact.

Lots of great 5th gen wheels for sale out there! The Trail Edition/Offroad wheels stick out 15mm more than the stock 4th gen wheels. FJ Wheels also have the same backspacing as the TE/OR wheels so that can be another option.

I thought the SR5 wheels had the same backspacing as 4th gens.

I have 5th gen trail edition wheels on my 4th gen and they fit just fine. There was a very small amount of rubbing that was easily fixed with a heat gun and a couple beers.

Are we totally sure that 5th Gen 17" wheels are perfectly compatible with 4th Gen?
