I've added a 3/4 quart of used oil on my tank - way to dispose a used oil
This is just to let everybody know I watch this guy from youtube pour in 5 quarts of oil in his audi gas tank and it ran okay and after a few miles of driving it dies on him.
In my opinion, he added too much oil.
I did that too by filling up my tank until it's full and added 3/4 quart of used oil. I had to filter it first using a paper towel because my container is full of crud. I'll be posting a video of it soon in this channel for proof. 4Runner4ever - YouTube
I've driven it for a few days now and it works fine so far. Rightnow, my 2005 4runner is the guinea pig here. So far it's working good. I guess if you are changing your oil and don't have a place to dispose it, this is the way. Cheers!

Why in the world would any sane person do that? Walmart’s are literally everywhere.

Adding used oil to your fuel tank. Probably not a good idea. I'm assuming that your injectors will eventually complain, and your O2 sensors, and maybe anything else that is expecting gasoline to be there. Plus your MPG may suffer. But I may be wrong, I haven't researched it or done it. I certainly wouldn't use my vehicle's combustion system as a means of disposing of used oil.

What's the reason for adding oil to the gas tank? Just to dispose of it? If so, I'm going to try to say this nicely: That is f**cking stupid, please stop doing it. You wouldn't put oily diesel in your tank, so don't put used oil in there either.

That doesn't sound like a good idea. Doesn't the county in which you live have an oil disposal site?

Uh.... I’ve seen many things on YouTube and this might be a top ten dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. I can’t imagine the particles that are floating around in the oil that can clog filters and injectors.
Not to mention that no car manufacturer has ever, as far as I know, said in their manual, “add used motor oil to you gas tank.”
Car manufacturers specifically tell you what you CAN put in there though. They might know what they are talking about.
Dumb dumb dumb.

An old 12v Cummins can burn used motor oil in an emergency. Never on a gas engine.
