Leveling Kit Question???

I just had the Daystart 2.5 front leveling kit installed and while it looks great it makes the back look lower then expected. It just like it offset it by rasing the front and then lowering the rear. I know that is not what happened but just wanted to give a mental pic.

My question is will this leveling kit settle down somewhat once it is driven and front end is alligned? The company that installed said it should after a while? So what if anything can be done to this and or what are you guys doing to offset the diffreance? I was thinking could get the rear kit also but then I am right back to sqaure one with the back being higher then the front.

As it stands right now looks good but again you can tell that it is not level but just by a little bit as the rear end looks lower. Please any help with this would be great.

thanks

You're talking about the kit that also levels the back by 1.5"?

Then that's a problem as most guys go up to a max of 1.75 to level and .85 for a little rake. 2.5 might be truly level but could give the impression of backwards rake because of the body lines.

Definitely will have reverse rake w/ only a 2.5" front spacer. I have 2.5" of lift in the front and then the 1.5" Daystar rear spacer to level everything out....

A front only leveling kit should not lift more than 1.5" or so. You may notice that all the lift and/or leveling kits advertise that they raise the front about 1" more than the rear. That is why you will see them labeled as a 2.5/1.5 leveling kit or a 3/2 lift kit.

In the end you have 2 choices to correct the problem. Install the 1.5" spacer for the rear or swap your front 2.5" spacer for something 1.5" or less.

Thanks for the input. I just ordered the 1.5 inch rear kit from them. Also pictured below is the way it looks now.

Another couple of questions. 1. since will have 2.5 leveling kit on the front and 1.5 on the rear. 1. What are biggest size tires can I run without rubbing or causing problems? 2. This is stupid but i have to ask, Do i have to have the rear end alligned after the install of the 1.5 inch rear leveling kit? 3. Will there be any problems with running 2.5 daystar up front and cornfeed 1.5 in the wear.

Thanks to all who helps and who will be helping.

The rear wouldn't need to be aligned as well after the 1.5 lift installed?

OP, check out the many lifted T4Rs in this thread. You will notice many people post their specs in their signatures. May give you a better idea of what you want yours to look like.

Post your LIFTED pix here!

Ya, you need the rear spacer to complete the kit to make it close to level .A rear spacer is a rear spacer is a rear spacer and not much technology involved with about 10 different people making them . Here is the rear one by Daystar that goes with the front one you installed......Daystar KT09127BK Comfort Ride 1.5" Rear Coil Spring Spacer Kit : Amazon.com : Automotive

And here's the whole kit..... http://www.daystarweb.com/productdet...productID=1236

http://www.amazon.com/Daystar-KT0913...ords=KT09134BK

And you will need an front end alignment any time you do a lift or the camber and toe will be off. No rear alignment needed as it's a straight axle and the rear alignment won't change much.My rear tires have shown no effect in 50k miles since a lift but I do rotate them every 3k miles.

Harper7,

Thanks for the info. I wished I would have talked to you earlier. As someone posted above about cornfeed rear kits and I called and ordered that rear kit for $120 and has already been shipped what a rip off then. That's what I get for not doing my homework.

Man oh man what a day!!! All I can do is laugh or throw up. oh well time will go on. I have already had my front end aligned today right after install of front leveling kit. Plus I am good at keeping tires rotated, pressures correct etc...

As far as tires go without rubbing and or cutting is there any bigger tires that will work weather it be wider or taller? I will be keeping OEM rims. Again thanks for all the help and guidance!
