I am new to the 4runner family. I lurked for about 3 months, did my research and pulled the trigger early August. We purchased a 2014 TE Nautical Blue w/KDSS, and couldn't be happier. My better half would have preferred the SR5 Premium because of the leather and smoother ride, but this is my vehicle and she wanted me to get what I wanted.
So like most people who invest in these fantastic vehicles, I wanted to go off road as soon as humanly possible. This action led me to my first aftermarket replacement. While going through a puddle, I managed to find a rock, which proved to be a formidable opponent to the stock skid.
After which, Optimus (my trusty co-pilot) found his way back into his traveling carrier.
As most of you know, the bottom skid is what the front skid plate should look like, but the top was all that was left after we made it back down the hill.
On the way home from this, I picked up the phone and called Josh

up at RCI in Ft Collins and ordered some new goodies. Side note, Josh was nothing but professional and provided great customer service. I would recommend his shop in a instant.
After this, life got a little crazy with work and travel. Which leads to my adventures today. I dropped her off at 4wheelparts off of I-70/Peoria to get some a little lift into the step.
I had the OME full suspension lift put on. 3" w 887 heavy coils on the front and the 2889 mediums on the back. I figured at this point, it would be silly not to replace the UCA's as well, so I went with a set of Camburgs. Also, added a couple sets of Spidertrax, she was sitting just a little to narrow w/o them.
After the installation, the drive is great, better than factory in my opinion.
I also replaced the tires with some Cooper ATPS 265/70/17 a couple of weeks ago, great ride, nice look. I drive for my job, so I couldn't get to crazy on my choice of tires. I know MPG isn't great, but if I wanted to keep decent MPGs, I would have kept my Altima. I do a lot of in city driving in and around Denver and average between 18-19.5. I love driving my 4runner every single mile. I couldn't have been happier with my purchase!
Hopefully this weekend, we can get up towards Leadville CO, I am told this is where some of the best Leaf Peeping exists. Pictures will follow.
