Fishing Rod Holder on 2015 TE
I live on the coast and do a lot of surf fishing/camping. I previously owned a Ford Escape that was equipped with a front hitch that allowed me to attach a rod holder for my 12' surf rods. I recently traded the escape in and purchased a TE 4Runner. I did an Internet search and no one offers a front hitch mount for 2015 trail edition 4Runners. Has anyone fashioned a front hitch and/or a fishing rod holder on their 2015 TE front bumper?

I use something like in the below link for fly rods when in the mountains...don't know if it would work for surf casting rigs but it works well with my 10' fly rods.

^ Right. I remember the pics. Use this search technique ...
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-ge...n-section.html
.... or hang around a few days, and someone will remember.

I think Curt makes a front hitch. Edit. I see you have a 2015 and Curt's website says those aren't compatible.

Thanks for the search help. I found this which may help me in the future however everything was custom and unfortunately I do not know how to weld.
Front Rod/cooler Rack Install
I may just have to buy a Southern Steel hybrid slimline front bumper, drill some holes to attach a 4-6 pole rod holder. Hoping there was a cheaper alternative.

4 Wheel Specialties could probably fab something. It won't be cheap but I have seen these guys build a few shark rigs in the past.

Hopefully this is what you're looking for OP. Curt seems to be what one of the members used. There's also the option of having one fabricated for you.

Thanks for the responses that 2" hitch is exactly what I'm looking for. I know my next obsession for the week; to find a shop that will be able to fab/modify a hitch. I think I'll start at 4 Wheel Specialties Taco04

Nice little flatty Slyangel9. That's a good idea however a vertical rod holder on the front bumper will allow me to let the rods sit on their own, unsupervised, while the bait is soaking in the surf waiting to be devoured.

These and the 100 other iterations of it will do the same thing...

Site sponsor CBI Off Road makes a high clearance front receiver hitch for 4th Generation 4Runners. Maybe if they saw enough interest, they would make one for the 5th Gen.
Here is a link to their 4th Gen front receiver hitch:

Wow those are some nice rod holders! Home depot works for me. I think the OP wants to keeps the rods up front so they don't eat sand all the way down the beach hence the front rod holders. Padre Island National Seashore is tough on all equipment especially vehicles I have seen more than a few burned up down there over the years...
