Simple way to haul trash to the dump?

Get second gen. It's not cost effective, but comes with a handy tailgate and it's just fun. 
More seriously, I took the backend measurements to walmart, home depot, target, etc looking for the perfect set of bins to hold wet scuba gear. I needed two bins that would fit on top of my tanks, with enough space to hold a full set of gear. Every place had something that would work, but I settled some fairly heavy duty ones that have held up well. I imagine similar would work for garbage as long as you don't load some much they can't be lifted safely.

The simplest way to haul trash to the dumpster is to ask for the help o a Dumpster Company. For a long time, I struggled and used to take the garbage to the dumpster alone. Then we found an excellent Dumpster Rental, Baltimore company, which helps collect trash from the house and then recycles them, all at an affordable price. Thanks to them, I save a lot of time, which I don't waste on throwing and recycling garbage, but for more important and useful. I recommend you to look for such a company, and this is the best and convenient solution.

I’d probably go with a lower-profile 32-gallon trash can and a couple of sturdy, stackable plastic bins for recyclables. That should give you a good balance between capacity and keeping everything organized without taking up too much cargo space.
Another option worth considering is a heavy duty collapsible utility bin. You could keep it folded when you need the cargo area for other things, then open it up when hauling trash. For recyclables,rigid storage totes would probably hold up better than the cheaper plastic drawer units and should be easier to clean.
The main thing I’d prioritize is something with a secure lid and a solid base so the bags don’t shift or leak during the trip to the dump.

A decade old thread. OK, I'll bite.
I have six 35 and 45 gallon plastic trash cans w/hinged lids for house waste behind my shed in an enclosure. When they're full (takes about two weeks to fill them) I hook up my 6' open box trailer (ex U-Haul bought at an auction in the 1980s) and haul them to my dump, 5.5 miles away over dirt roads. The six stand up perfectly in the trailer, with a bit of room down the center for odds and ends too large/long for the trash cans.

Well it was revived after a decade by a spambot.
What I don't get is why this thread ever existed at all.
You have $50K or so to spend on a vehicle but can't figure out how to haul some trash in it, and have to ask for help and broadcast that fact to the world via the internet??
