Trying to figure out how to get a finish on those silver roof rack that would be as close as possible to the nfab running boards. Would it just be a powder coat?
What finish for stock roof rack would resemble nfab running boards finish?

Get the cheapest black spray paint you can find and don't prep the surfaces properly. Spray one coat to mimic NFAB powder coating.
Seriously though, depending on gloss or flat sheen, some time with a spray can a properly prepped will do you well.

Spray can bedliner if you want it to be permanent. Plasti-Dip if you want to be able to remove it later. I've used spray can bedliner on stuff before and the finish is close to the N-Fab texture. Its not nearly as textured as Line-X.

I was thinking of this since I saw someone who did it on their valances. Do you think it would still fit into the black end caps? It's not too thick when added on?

I'd mask off the parts that will be inside the end caps just to be safe. Its not nearly as thick as the professionally applied stuff, but its a lot thicker than spray paint.
