touch up paint

Anyone have any tips for applying touch up paint on the 4 runner so it looks good. i have bunch of small divits in my hood from highway rocks hitting it.

my 4 runner is classic silver.

My biggest concern is rust, I had a large number of rock chips on my hood, most had rust. I washed, dried and then applied a rust convertor to each chip and rinsed it. I then applied the touch up pen paint, you can still see where the chips are but it non have flaked or bubbled after a Canadian winter. I'm please with my results, contemplating a bug deflector to protect the hood but am undecided, thoughts?
